We stopped by at 6 PM for Korean Fried Chicken w/ Beer. It was relatively busy, but we did not have to wait for a table. We were told to go upstairs and we were seated at a table next to the window.
The inside was a bit cold. Probably because they have an airconditioning unit and ceiling fans. All the lightweight items (like the wrapper of my chopsticks, the napkins we used and my empty water bottle) were blown away and ended up on the floor.
There was a lot of staff, but getting their attention to order, ask for refills and settle the bill took a long time. They were mostly chatting among themselves. We did not mind, but when we came downstairs we saw that there was a queue of people, waiting for a table. If the staff had been more attentive, we could have settled our bill (and, left) 30-45 min earlier.
We ordered half a serving of Spicy Chicken and half a serving of Orange Chicken. The Spicy Chicken was definitely better. It was not even that spicy. I would not recommend ordering the Orange Chicken if you are American because it does not taste anything like American Orange Chicken.
Overall, the chicken was very tasty and we would happily come back for more. The chicken was served with French fries and Korean ricecakes. The fries and ricecakes got cold quickly (probably because of the airconditioning and fans). They also gave everyone a complimentary serving of kimchi and pickled radish. Both...
Read moreFor the record the food is okay. The service is diabolical (think low budget horror, 'the hills have eyes' or similar). You will think and feel that the lunatics are truly running the asylum at this place, you'll be waiting 25 minutes for 1 drink to arrive while 7 or 8 staff members are standing around doing what appears to be absolutely nothing. If you have any requests or issues, nobody speaks English, and they don't appear interested in helping you out at all, you are an inconvenience to them, that's the vibe there. I understand the staff are Vietnamese as it is in Vietnam but one can't help but feel that if you run a restaurant in a middle of an international city where a significant amount of your customer base is from abroad, you'd have at least 1 staff member who could speak half decent English, but it appears such an obvious idea never occurred to them. The drinks (flavoured beer) were disgusting, as if an animal (a chimpanzee or a dog or something) has chewed up fruit and vomited it back into your glass which is then filled with cheap beer, I'd advise getting something out of a can or bottle if you must go there. If you enjoy a circus and are not that hungry or thirsty at the time of entering, this one...
Read moreA Korean fried chicken restaurant located near Bui vien street in the center of Ho Chi Minh City. At first I thought it should be an normal fried chicken restaurant. However, after being highly recommended by my local friends, I decided to try it one time. First of all, the store has a very large space, with a lot of seats, about four floors.
And here comes the important point, this time I ordered their spicy and garlic boneless fried chicken! Very tasty! It was so delicious and let me feel super amazing. Whether it's the very crispy skin or the perfect sauce, I can't forget it! I don't think there is a fried chicken restaurant that is as delicious as it is in Vietnam.
In addition to fried chicken, we also have some tooboki, fish soup, etc., but other foods are not as good as fried chicken. When I was about to leave, I found that the owner maybe came from Korean, so maybe this is why their...
