Oedo Alley - Japanese Food Village — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

Not qualified service. Staff delivered my food to wrong table. Staff collected my order but did not get update from kitchen that it was out of stock, untill 10 mins later. As I made a replaced item, staff said it was 10mins run out and he could not change order, thought it had no left over. It meant I had to pay for what the restaurant did not cook for me. This is cheating. Staff did not know what I order at all, despite that they were carying handphones used for collecting orders. I asked to meet manager, but staff send a junior black-shirt wearing no name tag and communicating inappropriately. Meanwhile, staff kept trudging right and wrong each other in the middle of restaurant. Such messy service and interrupting...

The service was great….but the food was very average. The Takoyaki was very wet and under cooked. The mayo wasn’t Kewpie and there was no Japanese Takoyaki sauce. It was just a wet ball. The Karaage chicken was over marinated in a salty marinade. It wasn’t crispy and didn’t taste like Karaage chicken. I had to ask for some Japanese mayo….we got this sweet tangy mayo instead. The Ebi tempura wasn’t tempura and the prawn was tasteless, the vegetables hard. The sushi lacked that rice wine vinegar rice taste and again it was very bland. The sake was great! Not too crowded but I’ve been waiting for almost an hour for my dish. After asking the staff about my order, they didn’t answer my question but keep me waiting. It turns out that my dish was miss-served to a table next to mine. The dish was on that table for a long time. The staff didn’t tell me about the situation, he took the dish back to the kitchen and stood there for awhile, then he came back to my table with the same dish, I asked if this is a new one, he said yes. But I’m sure it’s the one miss-served to the table next to mine. In the end, one of the staff apologized for what happened but whatever this is horrible experience and very very bad service quality.
