Had our wonderful hotpot meal during our Sapa trip. 1st day we were struggling to find a decent place for dinner due to the language barrier. Spotted this tastefully decorated restaurant but was hesitant to go in. There's no crowd and we were worried whether it's good. The restaurant was near to our hotel but away from the main street thus less noticeable. Need to take a short staircase down. But the lady boss was very warm and invited us. We were surprised at her fluent English. We told her we'll come back after some shopping and she didn't pressure us at all. She's really sweet. But we were glad we went back there. The hotpot was really good and tasty. We added the dessert of mango cake. It's actually fried mango, which tasted fresh! The owner also treated us with her home made fried taro which was also great. And we noticed that the restaurant is really clean, including the toilet facilities. Overall, we were happy with the restaurant. I wish more customer will noticed her good food...
Read moreThis restaurant and service is amazing. The grilled fish, a type of carp, was fresh and perfectly cooked. The best fish we had in our 3 week stay in North Vietnam. The lady chef is very helpful, speaking a bit of English, and a wonderful chef. Going again tonight.
Went back again for lunch and we had two hot bahn mi, one chicken and one vegetable both excellent. It came served on a plate with chips and salad.
A third visit for another evening dinner of grilled fresh fish was again superb. When we asked if they do any desserts they said only one. Mango or banana fritters. We tried them as everything else had been excellent. We weren't disappointed. Small pieces of fresh fruit dipped in a coconut milk batter, deep fried and served on a chocolate sauce. Delicious. Meal finished with two "wines". They seemed like a fortified wine such as white and red port. You...
Read moreWe had an amazing dinner at Viet Home Restaurant tonight. I'd highly recommend this place if you're after a hearty homely Vietnamese meal in a nice and cosy spot whilst visiting Sapa.
The owner is a lovely Vietnamese woman called Sang. She welcomed us warmly and explained what type of cuisine she cooks and what dishes she can recommend etc.
She also offered us to slightly amend our choice - Salmon Hot Pot Dish - and - omg! - I'm so glad that we picked it off the menu. It was really yummy and the whole experience of sharing this meal as a family was very unique and hearty.
All the dishes came out really yum, fresh, well made and beautifully presented.
Thank you so much for such a delicious and memorable dinner at your restaurant Sang.
You made our final dinner at Sapa really special.
The family from...
