Not that I intended to visit this restaurant, since I was keeping very full. There are many barbeque shops and similar restaurants in the locality, and I had tried a few around alreddy. The last few times I passed the same street, I had to say no to their invitation calls to try out their restaurant.
Coming to the main story, I was walking by at quite some speed back to my hotel, and some of my money fell. I didn't even realise that and it was only when I heard loud hellos that I looked back, and this restaurant's employees ( Ms Anh and one of her colleagues) came to me and handed me the money. Safe to say, had they not given a holler, I would have understood quite later that some money had been missing, and it would have been way late and no clue about knowing where I had dropped the same.
VND 300,000 may not be a big amount, but surely it ain't a small one. This amount per se can give you a stay and a one-time meal at a decent hotel in SaPa. Even if they had kept the money, I would have never known, and it was so nice on their part to display their generosity and inform me and return the money. Given all that I surely felt that I had to go here.
I came after some time, and after personally thanking them for their honesty and all that, I gave them a tip which was only accepted after persistent requests from my side. Their response was humble, and they said it's nothing of a big deal in being honest. I was really touched by their reply, their gesture, one rarely sees such kind of employees these days. Once again thanks to Ms Anh & her colleague for their magnanimity.
Coming to the food, the corn&cheese kebab of 4 pcs for VND 15,000 was quite a good dish, and it took about 5 mins to serve. I wish I had not been very full, I would have loved to try some more types of kebabs here. The restaurant area is...
Read moreNothing special here, just another BBQ in Sapa. I ordered horse meat skewer (VND 30,000) but was given pork meat instead, they again gave me another skewer (I think this time was horse meat, but maybe not) when I complained. I suspect the place tried to cheat me by giving cheap pork instead of horse meat. Anyway, very little meat on the skewer.
BBQ frog legs (VND 35,000 each skewer or one frog) are pretty good here, marinated with spices. Look for the biggest one, not all are same size. VND 35,000 each skewer. Come with a slightly spicy hot BBQ sauce. (I suspect they switched a smaller frog for a big one I had chosen, when it was cooked and served to me it was much smaller than the other one. I had chosen two frogs, both seemed big size when I chose tbem.)
So beware.
Bamboo rice each VND 20,000, no taste, costs too much for just a bit of sticky rice.
Kind of expensive for such little bit of food. Maybe better look elsewhere for BBQ buffet for a low set price so there are more...

The fried rice is nice, the bbq stuff are, well bbq stuff.
You hardly know what you are picking to be cooked, and you hardly know what you are paying for at the end when you study the bill.
The boss sometimes comes around with "happy water" and toast with some of the customers.
All in all, it is a busy restaurant in a busy street, in a town with lots of tourists who gets charged...
