Romano Pizza Restaurant — Restaurant in Sa Pa Ward

Have mixed feelings about this place. Came here based on good reviews but found apart from 1 other diner, our group were the only table there that night. There is NO MUSIC or sound whatsoever in the restaurant which felt odd, making it extremely quiet such that the sound of the blender making our smoothies was quite jarring against the silence. Being used to food arriving soon after ordering in Vietnam, we were left waiting a very long time despite apparently being the only customers at the restaurant. We had 4 kids with us who were quickly getting hungry and impatient. Ordered pizza and pasta which was OK. Having eaten pizza and spag bol a few times in Vietnam we've come to accept they cook it a certain way. Don't expect the same traditional wood fire pizza from Italy. Taste was ok but not the same. Don't know why but cost of pizza and pasta in Vietnam always costs a lot. For what we paid for our group (over 1 million dong), a couple of adults were still left hungry (off to the night market for desserts!) Owner was kind but overall I'm not sure I would return...

Wonderful restaurant, probably one of the best we've been in Sapa, and we stayed here for 2 weeks.

I was skeptical because Western food isn't that good in Sapa, but Romano really nailed it. We had pasta pizza bruschetta and french fries. Everything was fresh and really good.

We saw the owner preparing the fresh tomato sauce and it makes a big difference when cooking.

The owners are very friendly too. I wish we discovered it before and came more. The only feedback I would have it to play some music in the room, but that's about it.

As long as you keep your expectations managed, you will get what you need. The pizza is super basic (definitely a store bought base), but we were desperate for pizza so it was fine. Also the prices were pretty high considering the quality (240K for a dinner plate sized pizza). We wouldn't go again.

The lady who served us was super nice though, and my wife got the Spanish hot chocolate and loved it (super thick and creamy).
