We attended Olè on Friday night as it was my partners birthday. Upon arrival we were seated quickly by the hostess. She plonked the menus down then disappeared. Because dining has changed so much over the years we were unsure if it was table service, if we had to scan the QR code or order at the bar. I approached the bar and the bartender informed me that it was table service. I returned to our table and very soon the waitress approached to take our order. I informed her that we had literally just been seated and hadn't even looked at the menu although a couple of drinks would be nice to start with. Our drink orders were taken and again she asked if we wanted to order food. I again informed her that we hadn't looked at the menu yet. She disappeared then return about 5 minutes later to again ask if we'd like to order. I stated that we're still waiting for our drinks and will look at the menu once they've arrived. My partner's cocktail eventually arrived (after around 15 mins) but my beer was nowhere to be seen. I approached the bar and informed the bartender that I still hadn't received my beer. He apologised and quickly got my drink and handed it to me. At this point we proceeded to look at the menu. After deciding what we wanted we waited and we waited and we waited but our server never returned. She kept walking passed our table but never approached or made eye contact. I found this very odd!!! We eventually waved down another waitress who was happy to take our order (we were ordering off the TAPAS menu). Before our food arrived, I was after another beer so instead of trying to find our waitress, I approached the bar and ordered off the bartender. Our food did arrived quite quickly and the couple of dishes that arrived were delicious (although we didn't have any salt or pepper on our table so had to ask the bartender if we could grab some as our waitress was still MIA). Our plan was to order a couple of dishes and when they arrive, order a few more and possibly a few more after that but because the service was so bad, we decided to get the bill and go somewhere else. A very disappointing experience!!! We probably won't...

I have been coming here annually for almost 10 years as we tend to visit the Southbank area when we have visitors and it’s a fun day out and a change from the Sunshine Coast. Today was extremely disappointing. Firstly no one served us to take our order so I had to get up and find someone, one lady said she’d take our order but took another tables and never came back, another girl took our order and got it lost, we waited over 40 minutes for our drinks even though people who ordered after us were half way through their meals and drinks. We had to get up again and then again to ask what was going on with no explanation or apology even though it was table service. When our drinks finally came out it was after our food and the drinks were not full maybe 70-80% and they were filled with ice so hardly much drink! The meatballs were super ‘bouncy’ like rubbery, the paella was really stingy in proportion with hardly much in the pan the calamari was bland. I felt so embarrassed taking our family member who came out from the UK after getting her how good it was. When the waitress (blonde girl wearing black) asked how everything was I said ‘to be honest it was only OK’ she asked why and I mentioned a few points above. She tried to justify the drinks not being full and I said no because the 2nd $14 mocktail was full (they served us this after our food was finished). She said oh ok then said here is your bill for $193 (4 tapas, 3 mock tails, 1 coke, 1 paella) and the credit card machine asked if I wanted to tip!! You’d think after them wasting our time, giving us glassful of $14 ice and rubbery meatballs she would have at least given our drinks on the house. It just ruined our afternoon so much. I bet my response from the owner will give me a copy/paste like the other bad reviews here because it’s clear that they don’t care. Really they should be looking at their complaints and see how they can improve and realise their lack lustre attitude really affects people...

Terrible experience recently at An old favourite where we always enjoyed food and service. However our group of four lady diners who have had lunch at nice restaurant each month for 30 yrs. We went for Sunday lunch and it honestly was so bad we will never be back.

I had the tapas meatballs, which had always been good in the past, but this time 3 small meatballs in a sea of red sauce where the meat tasted a little off to be honest and both meat and sauce lacked any significant flavour. $19.

The various wait staff virtually spoke no English and got most of our orders and service delivery wrong and couldn't answer questions.

We each had desert which was pretty average. I had ice cream and tia Maria, which was a few small scoops of vanilla ice cream and a shot for $19. All four of us ordered cappuccinos. Three came, the fourth never turned up despite asking about three times. The ones that showed up literally tasted like water, as if staff had forgotten to put coffee in the machine. Four times we tried to tell the staff, who basically ignored our complaint. At the checkout most restaurants let you nominate what you had and the ring up your share. Not here. The bored operator gave us a bill print out, told us to add up what our share was, but it was all in Spanish,so we had no idea what was what. Staff refused to help, looked the other way. We told them again about the undrinkable hot water served as coffee for $6 plus each, and the operator just said he'd tell the manager later. We had to pay. We looked around for someone more senior, there was no one. When we got to the final person's share we were short, it turns out we had been charged a "Sunday surcharge" of $22.50, which wasn't explained or noted beforehand.

It was not just the fact the food and service was bad, it was the arrogance that they didn't care and felt entitled to dish up garbage that made me feel totally ripped off and like they didn't deserve my...

Good margaritas. My food was average but still very pleasant. While teh calamari entree was superb, the huge paella the 4 of us shared was a little on the salty side and I got quite ill that night. No-one else did, only me, so not sure what caused it - maybe I was unfortunate and had a mussel that was off? The sangria was quite pleasant but I must admit I have tasted nicer. The negative was the extreme noise (the place was PACKED) which made it difficult to have a nice conversation with the friends at our table. Still, it's worth a visit if you love Spanish tapas. Updated May'22: visited again with friends from Sydney, as this was a convenient location. This will be my last visit. The food is still average and I've been to many Spanish places where the food is MUCH better. The service was appaling and trying to catch the attention of a waitress was difficult. The potatoes bravado was very mediocre, the pate has far far too much sherry in it which totally overpowered the taste of the pate meat, and the pork belly could have been more crunchy. One meal ordered - chicken skewers - didn't come out and we had to remind them. Poor. The only saving grace was the desserts... Baked cheesecake superb, Crema Catalans was good. Churros average and nicer at San Churros. And when we went to pay the bill, they had added on a $39 jug of sangria that we did not order. We will NOT be going back. Ever.

Here's a restaurant for those who ❤ their Sangria. Olé offers a wide range of delicious Spanish dishes made with quality ingredients. Located on the busy strip of Little Stanley St you are close to the underground carpark, Imax cinemas and Southbank Parklands. Yesterday my sister and I tried the Olé Sunset Deal. For $50 for 2 people ($25pp) it was worth it. The Sunset Deal offers: 3 x Tapas and 2 x house beverages You can also change your Tapas for 1 x Paella dish instead. (Some seafood and other dishes may come at extra cost). For our tapas we chose their Calamari, Meatballs and Croquettes. Our top dish would be their Calamari, it was well seasoned, crispy and the garlic aioli dip was thick and creamy. Their White Sangria is a must try for those who love their fruity drinks. Such a refreshing beverage prefect for the warm Brisbane weather. Overall, this place would be great for a date, you have live entertainment from 6pm, cinemas close by and Southbank night markets across the road. We will most certainly be returning again.

A Must-Visit Gem in Brisbane! I had the pleasure of dining at Olé on Saturday night, and "absolutely incredible" doesn’t even begin to cover it! From the moment we arrived, the vibrant atmosphere and buzzing energy set the tone for an unforgettable evening (hot tip: make sure you book ahead—it’s popular for a reason!). The staff were exceptional—welcoming, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Between myself and three others, we chose the 'Festival' share set menu, and wow—what a feast! Every dish was bursting with flavour, beautifully presented, and perfectly portioned for sharing. The drinks menu at Olé is just as impressive, with everything from classic cocktails to non-alcoholic options. **If you’re a Sangria fan, don’t miss the sampler—it’s a must-try!** Set in a stunning location, Olé truly delivers on all fronts: food, service, ambiance, and drinks. If I could give it 10 stars, I would. I’ll be returning every time I’m in Brisbane—this place is a standout!
