This has to be the worst shopping centre in Perth, hands down. Walking into Watertown feels like stepping into some post-apocalyptic wasteland—empty shops, miserable workers, and a general air of despair. The entire place is practically lifeless, and the few people there either look like they regret every decision that led them to this moment or are just trying to escape as quickly as possible.
The workers are rude, and customer service is clearly an afterthought. But honestly, can I even blame them? If I had to spend all day in this depressing dump, I’d be miserable too.
The food options? Abysmal. Junk fast food everywhere, and the one café that looks half-decent is ridiculously overpriced. And if you try to eat outside? Good luck—pigeons will literally jump onto your table and steal your food. It’s disgusting.
The atmosphere? Horrendous. The centre blasts awful music through the speakers like some kind of dystopian mind-control experiment, and the whole place reeks of piss, cigarettes, and failure. The bathrooms? Filthy. The parking? An absolute ripoff.
But the worst part? The vibe. This place radiates a level of sadness that’s almost impressive. If you ever need a visual representation of corporate neglect and urban decay, Watertown is it.
The only reason I ever come here is because it’s the closest place to grab lunch—but at this point, I’d rather starve. This place needs to be demolished...

AN EDITED VISIT TO WATERTOWN. After a break of three years. I certainly was not disappointed this time. Atmosphere was great.
Visited this place again last week June 2023 and I must say it was a big improvement since the last visit. A lot of interesting shops and a lot more people shopping or just walking around. Most of the shop staff were quite happy to let you browse without hassle and all were very friendly, polite and service with a smile. I must say though, I only saw three food outlets. One Kebab shop, a Japanese and a Chinese. The Laska at the Chinese food shop was the best I had. Approx abt $10 served in a take away container and also, there was free complimentary Chicken soup which was delicious. Not many places give anything away for free. But this place did. All the food I saw that was served looked very appetising. There was also a little coffee stand on the ground floor selling Gelare Ice cream as well. I had a coffee which was very good. Watertown is easy to get to by Train then hop onto the Yellow Cat Bus and it stops opposite the Shopping precinct and just outside on the return journey to the Train Station. I will certainly visit again. I really did enjoy my shopping this time. The Mall was clean and so were the toilets. A...
Read moreThis place is full of awesome shops and food. But today I watched the security who are ment to stop at the mall entrances, chase and then surround one woman in a bus shelter with three grown men . Pushing and pulling went on and then the main white larger gent yelled out who cares about the stolen generation which set off the guy across the road. The lady had only a small bag on her that they snatched at. Why were the police not called? Why are security guards crossing over the areas they are paid to keep safe and grabbing (it is assault) people? Why did the same security guard yell out that he is a stolen generation too and get over it. This is a vile over step and disgusting representation of a public place of business never mind the company they represent. And since then the company has reached out via here and are making a difference. This center is full of Amazing staff and awesome stores and a pharmacy with an amazing heart and all have awesome customer service. You always have my business . Thank you and now the security came into the hotel apartments chasing someone and said it was fine as the owner gave permission. NO . It is two owners and u need both and the people living here also have a right to say no. Stay on your property and call the police . All the street cameras here are at full view of here. This...
