Coming on here to say that the staff at that dental program are horrendous.

The constant excuse is that they’re overbooked and understaffed, but I don’t understand why I’m being projected on. Took my aunt there in 2022 and front desk was atrocious.

Late: We had trouble locating the dental office, haven’t been here ever. Got put on hold on the phone for forever. When she got to us, she asked for my aunt’s name and said there’s nothing under that name. I tried to 3x explain that there is another name she goes under, but was cut off all 3x, then blew up at me for being late + that I didn’t give her the correct name.

Medications: Told us to bring them and list them out for the dentist’s observation. Long story short, I don’t live with my aunt and am the only one to accompany her for important stuff. She’s mentally challenged so that + my busy schedule, she was only able to bring her meds instead of list them. Front desk blew up at me for that, “you expect the doctor to do this for you?!”.

Fortunately, the actual dentist is extremely relaxed and kind, when I approached her with these issues, she had nothing to complain of. That, my friends, is professionalism. That is what this program should be like for seniors who are struggling.

I don’t want to hear this overworked bs, as if we don’t all come from complex backgrounds and work exhausting jobs...

I was at the Civil Center to finish the process to get my passport replaced. When i got to the Center for my 10:00am appointment on the 2nd floor, there was no line up. There were two security guards just ahead. The first one asked my name and a couple of the standard COVID-19 questions. She instructed me to take a seat and some would call me. I waited till 11am and notice other who came after me were going ahead to counter. Well, i went to ask the 2nd security guard "why I'm still sitting and other are going ahead of me"?. The 2nd security guard didn't have an answer. I went to the counter and the lady and gentlemen behind was not very helpful. I asked to speak to who was in charge and they sent me to a empty counter. One of the other staff beside the the unhelpful staff call me over and said "I'm free now i can help you". She was very helpful with the processing of my papers. The 2nd security guard was helpful when i returned at 4pm with signed passport photos. I had to travel to Ajax to get my reference to sign as he forgot to. I made it back to the second floor at 4pm. The 2nd security guard was kind to take photos from me and ask if someone could complete my file. I was thankful for the helpful staff and 2nd security guard that...

The outdoor ice rink is a great thing to have available for a Saturday or Sunday afternoon skate. It isn't very large, but it is nestled among the buildings and just below grade, which protects it from harsh cold winds.

It usually has music playing, but the last 2 times I've been there, the music was off. Some skaters brought their own music.

The skaters range from beginners (they have free walkers available for beginners) to those practicing their highly skilled moves. Look for a local teen with the fancy dance steps. He may be in the Olympics one day. I've posted a video showing him in action.

There are plenty of benches and an indoor area where you can strap on your skates. Washrooms are close by.

If you're not in the mood to join the kids for a skate, you can drop them off and head on over to the Scarborough town centre mall next door. The rink is supervised, though some supervisors are much more attentive than others.

All in all, a great place for some fresh...

I recently had my wedding at the Scarborough Wedding Centre, and I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out! One of the best decisions we made was hiring PhotosbyAmna for our wedding photography. Amna captured every special moment with such creativity and professionalism, and the photos turned out stunning. Highly recommend both the Scarborough Wedding Centre and PhotosbyAmna for anyone planning their big day!

Before heading to the "Hand of God" park; I decided to explore the area. 40 plus years of living in Scarborough I did not notice this pathway Southeast end of the Civic centre with a little picturesque pathway (kind of modern kind of Asian inspired). I know Raymond Moriyama designed it; I didn't know a little pathway would be considered with such attention.
