Few information for fellow travelers, union station close all doors at 12 am until 5 am next day that’s the earliest door open (no overnight stay). Although some buses for far distinctions ( flix bus/go bus/ Ontario northland) depart after 12 am but those buses depart from a different building (81 bay st.) that is connected to union station by a bridge. If you are in scotia arena watching a game you have two options either go to the buses building using the escalator or go to union station for in city buses and trains. Latest place to eat close at 11 pm and very few options after 9 pm. There is a bagel place that open 5:30 in the morning that has a really nice and fresh bagel the other option will be either tims or Macdonald for breakfast open at 6am. It’s a lovely station and one of the busiest in Canada if not the busiest. Train to Toronto Pearson airport are every 20 minutes and take around 25 minutes (nice and clean). You can use your debit or credit no need for presto card if you’re taking the express train to airport. A shuttle bus goes to billy bishop airport that is free but you take it from outside the union station next to the hotel west entrance.

Union Station is GINORMOUS. Besides the mall sections, the art, the banking, the bakery’s, the boutiques, the restaurants and the various walkovers…all lines of public transportation flow through the station. You can spend the day there for fun 🤩 or you can also get lost accidentally or for fun!! When you stop to look 👀 around … parts of the station are actually gorgeous. It’s very clean. If you are learning the public transportation system, this is a perfect place to learn. Most people are bustling by and know exactly where they are going. There are signs to guide you but you may still need to ask for help because once everything clicks it’s so easy and inexpensive to get around. Don’t be overwhelmed if it is your first time there. There was always someone around to ask for help. As soon as I landed in Toronto I went to a pharmacy/drug store and bought a bus pass and put money on it. You just tap your card and go on your way. I always started my travels at Union Station because everything is there. If you get lost you can always get back to that point shop, eat, regroup and start again!!! The station is very user friendly.
