I just missed my GO bus, that comes only once every hour and to miss a bus like that at 12:40 am after a long and hard shift at work and having to wait an hour until 01:40, because the staff at Union Station F*ed up, has really made me angry.
Everyday I walk across Union station's platform 3 from the skywalk to the bus terminal. The platform is very long and can take at least 5 minutes to walk across it. I entered the platform from the Skywalk and when I reached the end of the platform to exit, I found out that security had closed it, due to bad weather. At this point, I had less than a minute left to get to the bus, before it drove away. There was no other way, but to walk all the way back to the start of the platform at the Skywalk and exit to Front street and walk back to Bay street and into the Bus terminal. Of course I missed my bus, Duh!
What angered me so much, is that this would never have happened, if the entire platform was closed off from BOTH ends, instead of just one end. I am very upset and angry right now and this is the reason I am writing this bad review.
I really hope that the careless idiot that caused this, publicly becomes Employee of the Month, if you get my sarcasm and with this situation being the explanation for the reason for...
Read moreI arrived from Montreal via VIA Rail two hours late due to frieght trains on Wednesday, 3 August, 2022. I was connecting to Barrie on the Go train. I was astonished to discover there was no elevator that would transport me to the platform and I was travelling with a suitcase and a bad knee; no way I could have walked up the stairs. A young lady and her companion saw my distress and came to my rescue explaining there was no elevator in the section I had arrived in. I was astonished as it is brand new and surely an elevator would be a plus. The young ladies escorted me by foot some 10 minutes to another section of the station and there I sat until my train was called. Cory, a young man and employee escorted me on the elevator and took me directly to the train. I was most impressed by his attitude, his caring and kindness to me and wanted to express my gratitude in writing, also to the two young ladies whose names I do not know. I have been travelling to Toronto many many years and never encountered such confusion. However, because of the staff mentioned I was able to calm down and make my revised connection Most sincerely, Patricia J. Fraser,...
Read moreUnion Station has been under construction for years now it feels. I don't live in Toronto anymore but when I did come to Unio in Oct 2018 it was a mess -Terrible planning and still under construction. I was at the waiting area to take the Via Rail to Ottawa. I needed some food for the 4 hr plus train ride and guess what? No food stalls in the Via Rail terminal so I had to move myself and my giant luggage all the way to where they have Starbucks and McDonald's which is located downstairs. The elevator took forever so I had to hull my luggage down the stairs with me. The worst bit was arriving at the so called "food court" and all the reataurants and cafe where not even clustered together. You had to walk around the entire lower level pushing through the crowd to find what you want. There is no directory either so you're tired and panicking at the same time. I saw that they are building a new food court area at the lowest level of the building. I hope that this new addition provides ample seating, choices, room and easy access from...
