Olympic Square — Attraction in Hong Kong

Chinese New Year of PIG- 2Nd Day “Chuo Yi” of the CNYear’s Fireworks on Wednesday, at 20:00 hours, Feb 6 2019. These pictures were taken from the Olympic Square at the Hong Kong Park. It was chosen because accessibility with ease and avoidance of hundreds of thousands of spectators in the nearby waterfront areas. Those areas do give a better view if one goes earlier and finds a suitable spot. This is easier said than done. It was believed to be a good location at the Olympic Square , at the same line of sight of the source of the fire works’ shooting boats and clearings could be found if the bursting designs of the projections are high enough above the buildings or in between clearing of buildings. This assumption of height of the fireworks was misjudged on that night.overall, the full fireworks were not high enough. Fortunately , some complete designs of Fireworks could occasionally be seen with beautiful surroundings and a bright background. In particular, some façade of buildings reflected the designs ,so two images were seen at opposite locations. Despite of only single design or half designs were seen, a taste of Art and the unique features were impressive. Simple and clear solo design of fireworks one at a time, in a quiet and big space was unconventional for fireworks. It is quite an memorable night of fireworks with unique views in a special surroundings . Beauty of the show was in the incompleteness of the display which gave room for fantasy. I saw a free performance of ‘A Mid Summers Night Dream’ by the Hong Kong Shakespeare Performance Association at Olympic Square. It’s a great amphitheater and I thoroughly enjoyed the use of the space...
