Bunch of incompetent people who are either lazy enough not to go through the procedure for a payment exceeding a €1,000 or uneducated enough not to know that there’s a limit of €15,000 cash for foreigners in France. I’ve showed them Bank of France, official gouverment page where it cleary states that the maximum amount that can be paid in cash is €15,000 for foreigners and if I’m not mistaken a fine of €150 euros can be issued if the payment is refused. I’ve bought, as well as my relatives a bunch of stuff over a thousand euros in cash without any problem so far, the only thing i was asked for was proof of residence.
