I tend to get verbose so in order to give those of you looking for a short and sweet review, I will begin with this: I cannot recommend this hotel enough! The staff is great, the location is beautiful and convenient, and the rooms are quiet and comfy.
Now, I'll allow myself to list all the perks down to the last detail, because this hotel deserves it!
Rooms: Three of us stayed in the Deluxe Triple room. The room itself was lovely and suited our needs well. The beds were comfortable, everything was clean and welcoming, and they gave us a beautiful view! Our room was across the hall from the elevator and next to the stairs, but we never noticed sound from either inside the room. Our windows overlooked the busy street (which we really enjoyed people-watching from), but with the windows closed and curtains drawn it was pleasantly surprising how much the street noise was quieted. This all being said, this is an old building, and while I personally knew what to expect and had no issues, i could see how some people might be caught unawares, so a few warnings to others: the bathrooms are narrow and the elevator is quite small, so dont expect to fit a whole family into either at one time. The rooms themselves are comfortable but compact, they are rooms to relax and sleep in between exploring excursions, not rooms you'd host large gatherings in. Again, wasn't a problem for me, but just a heads-up.
Location: The location of this hotel is STUNNING. It is situated on the rue de Passy, which is home to all sorts of markets, food stops, and boutique shops, as well as a lovely view of the Eiffel tower peeking up over the tops of the neighborhood buildings. A wonderful full view of the tower is just a short walk away on the Pont du Bir-Hakeim (a walk during which you pass an easily accessible metro station). Continue down that same bridge and you will reach the Champs de Mars RER station which can take you directly to Versailles. The hotel itself is surrounded by infinite methods of travel to any tourist destination, there are several nearby metro stations, bus stops, and even a taxi stop at the nearest intersection which has no shortage of taxis throughout the day. We used taxis for most of our sightseeing so we could take plenty of time gawking out windows, and nothing seemed inconviniently far. Shopping and food-wise, there's plenty to do here. Immediately outside the hotel there are several grocers, pharmacies, atm, and perhaps most importantly the Desgranges bakery which has phenomenal lunch items and pastries. About a 15 minute walk west takes you past several shops, including la Grand Epicerie for any grocery needs you could possibly have, and the restaurant Pop's which had some of the most delicious food of our stay.
Service: Christine welcomed us so warmly upon our arrival that we instantly knew we were in good hands! She was an absolute joy and was so thoughtful and helpful during our entire stay. If you are english speaking, do not be daunted. The ENTIRE staff took such good care of us and were so kind and patient with our extremely limited abilities in speaking French. I can not speak highly enough about every single person who took care of us during our stay, I appreciate them all so much!
Thank you to the Hotel Passy Eiffel for a wonderful stay!
