The architecture is a crazy 3 floors building, blending classic Parisian charm with modern design and thematic decor. Except for the outstanding "l'Epicerie" the drink and restaurant options remain accessible and a decent choice, offering food that's at best average, with an experience akin to typical Parisian cafés. As a tourist I would advise visiting and admiring the architecture of the building when walking through Saint Germaine but avoid purchasing anything from this store as you probably will not have your passport with you. They have this comedic rule that you have to have your passport with you to qualify for tax-free shopping. Who walks around with a passport? If this was a government requirement I would let it ride but I was told by the pompous Tax-refund manager, who took great pleasure in admonishing me “to respect the rules of the store.” 😂 Confused arrogance! “I accept logic but not arbitrary pathos! A copy of my passport suffices at all stores I visit in Paris but not for Le Bon Marche!” I find it astounding in the modern world of highly competitive retail that management is content with being stuck in unnecessary bureaucracy!
