Air Balloon Tbilisi — Attraction in Tbilisi

While being in the airballoon for 10 mins was great, the surrounding practicalities was the worst I have experienced in a long time.

We were some of the first in line, but had to wait for 1,5 hour to get up, due to people with VIP (first in line) tickets, and the fact that only 5-6 people were let in at the time. There was no queing system, so a lot of people were just sneaking in from the side, skipping the line. At some point there was literally a fight going on because of the chaotic and non transparent waiting time.

The cashier kept selling tickets, knowing that most of the costumers would have to wait several hours +3 (not being able to leave meanwhile) or not even be able to have a go within the opening hours - with no money refund. Felt like a scam with the very little transparacy and poorly...

The hot air balloon ride at Rike Park is definitely a unique way to see Tbilisi from above — the views are beautiful, especially with the mountains in the distance and the river below. It’s a cool idea and feels safe, but honestly, it felt a bit overpriced for just a 10-minute ride.

There was also a long line, which made the wait feel even less worth it for such a short experience. I was surprised to see such big crowds here and even at the nearby cable car, which I ended up skipping just because of the queue.

If you’ve never done something like this before and don’t mind the price, it’s a nice once-in-a-lifetime experience. But if you’re on a budget or short on time, it may not feel...

Lovely experience. The views at night 😍😍😍 are ridiculously stunning!!!!! I went on a Tuesday past 9pm, there were 2 groups of 8 before me by the time I had purchased the ticket and I got on the 3rd trip so here wasn’t much of a wait time, the whole experience from getting on to coming back down was about 10ish minutes. Ticket costs 55gel per person and the carriage only takes 8 passengers (9 including the staff member) just an FYI the 8 people should stand apart / distributed in the carriage for balance which is logical but just in case you’re with the whole family and would want a group pic when in the air, this won’t be allowed so take it before or after :).
