We spent 3 nights here the a further night after a stay in Armenia. ||||The hotel is located in the Jewish Quarter of the old town, and is a 5 minute walk away from the old town which is full of restaurants, wine bars, tourist shops and money exchanges, It is also a stones throw away from the cable car that takes you up to the old fortress and the 'Mother of Georgians' statue. Most tours start from this area too.||||All staff members on reception are helpful and friendly, and try their best with their English skills - even sometimes this is lacking, we always understood each other in the end. ||||Our room was room 5 and it was clean and tidy and was made up once during our three night period, which we didn't mind, as we tend to make the bed ourselves in the morning anyway. Clean towels were provided when the room was made up. ||Large room with a large bed and double sofa in the room and a fitted wardrobe with some hangers. The bed was comfy and the bedding clean and comfortable. ||||The bathroom was clean and tidy and had toiletries and even a disposable toothbrush and toothpaste! The shower worked fine and was hot water was always available. The toilet sometimes took a while to flush properly when it had just been used, but I think this is just the way of Georgia as I experienced this in public toilets also. There is also a quite large fridge in the room which worked well. ||||The heating is always on in the room and bathroom so got quite warm fro us at night. However, the hallway was never on, so if we got hot we just opened the door for a while. ||||The room was quite noisy at times during the night ,and this noise was from upstairs in the building, but mostly from the road works that were going on outside the hotel, which I cannot blame the hotel for. ||||The WiFi connection was good, which was important for us when checking in for our flights to Armenia and back home again. Even though the hotel's printer was broken, the staff assisted us by printing our boarding passes for us elsewhere outside of he hotel free of charge. Very helpful indeed and we were very grateful for this. ||||When we travelled to Armenia during our stay, the hotel let us leave our baggage with them and they kept it safe until 2 days later when we returned. ||||We also booked a cab with the hotel to Tbilisi airport that arrived on time and got us there safely, even though we were leving at 3:30am. ||||Overall, a very nice stay, apart from the noise which really could...
Read moreThe location is great if you want to be in the heart of Tbilisi Old Town. A great little restaurant called Capre Diem is just around the corner (in case you get tired of Georgian cuisine at some point). (However it is a big question what it is you are seeking in this part of town... think before you go there, as this old town centre consists of old jewish neighbourhood and an endless number of annoying restaurants and excursion and wine shops. Think twice, maybe you should choose a different part of town). Filter coffee at breakfast was great. Staff is very nice and friendly, rooms are small, but cozy and bathrooms are comfortable.
Breakfast is terrible (apart from coffee). At 10 (half hour before the end of breakfast) most of the food is gone (so what, we are not really persons - why should we suffer). The selection of food at breakfast is weird. Who eats salads with mayonnaise or something like rice with meat (was it some sort of "plov"? I don't know). Food is mostly cold - heaters are only for sausages and rice, while pancakes with cheese and meat are cold. Muesli/cereal are only for children - they are all flavoured or sugared. And there is no porridge or omelette. The breakfast really is an Achilles heel of this hotel. The only upsides are filter coffee and the fact that the breakfast area has a great view...
