Update: At my most recent visit it seems like some things have changed and the staff was friendlier this time.

Original review======

During my recent visits to Galeria, I encountered a series of unfortunate interactions that left me feeling unwelcome and disheartened. From the moment I entered the store, the atmosphere was less than inviting, and the employees I interacted with did not exhibit the professional courtesy I expected.

At the Cashier: Even the most basic transaction, such as paying at the cashier, was marred by impoliteness. There was a noticeable lack of the friendly demeanor typically associated with customer service, which made a simple purchase feel like an unwelcome chore.

General Employee Attitude: Throughout the store, the attitude of the employees was consistently rude. Whether I was browsing products or in need of assistance, the interactions were short, brusque, and devoid of the warmth that encourages a return visit.

Overall Impression: The collective behavior of the staff at Galeria significantly impacted my shopping experience. A store's success is not only measured by the quality of its products but also by the quality of its customer service. Unfortunately, in this case, the latter was severely lacking.

In conclusion, my experience at Galeria was very disappointing. The unwelcoming environment created by the staff's rudeness has dissuaded me from considering future visits. It is my hope that this feedback will be taken seriously and that improvements will be made to ensure a more positive experience for...

This is easily one of the best department stores I have ever been to. It looks pretty normal from the outside, but once inside, it's amazing. It's clean, well organised and absolutely massive. There is practically any item you can think of, and something to suit all ages and budgets.

The best part though, is the restaurant/coffee shop on the top floor. It has an outdoor terrace, which offers STUNNING views of Frankfurt. Not only that, but the coffee is really good; not the watered down rubbish that you get from chain coffee shops. Honestly, if I lived in Frankfurt (or nearby) I would only drink coffee here, and never go anywhere else again! As an added bonus, all of the staff were lovely 🙂.

The ordering process at the restaurant is really good. Upon entry, you are given a physical card with a barcode on it. Whenever you want to order any food or drinks, you simply go to any of the ordering counters and choose what you want. The staff will then scan the card, and the running total will be added onto your tab. Once you're ready to pay, you go to the till and give the staff member the card, and then pay the total amount due. I thought this was a brilliant idea, as it allows you to purchase more items whenever you want, and pay in one go when you're ready to leave, rather than getting up multiple times and paying separately each time.

If you're visiting Frankfurt, do not miss out on this fantastic department store! In fact, it's worth visiting Frankfurt just for this...

I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received at your Frankfurt store on 22.06.24. As a loyal customer and VIP member, I was particularly upset by the rude and unprofessional behavior of one of your cashiers.

Earlier in the day, I had an accident and spilled coffee on my VIP coupon, making it slightly wet. When I attempted to use the coupon around 14:00 at the men’s department, the cashier made an inappropriate and loud comment. She remarked, "What mess are you bringing here, looks like you found it in a trash can and are trying to use it." This comment was not only humiliating but was made loudly enough for her colleagues and other customers to hear. Despite my name being clearly printed on the coupon, I was treated with disrespect.

The cashier in question was a woman with a thicker build and dark hair in a butch cut. I believe that every customer should be treated with respect and courtesy, regardless of the situation. The behavior I encountered was far from the level of service I expect from Karstadt.

I hope you will address this issue appropriately. I suggest that this employee be retrained on customer service and professional behavior to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future. I value Karstadt and hope that measures will be taken to ensure a more respectful and pleasant shopping experience for all customers.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to...

Excellent place in Frankfurt Germany...

Surprisingly, Frankfurt being German's financial centre, you can't find a comparably large department store or shopping mall in the city centre. Galeria at Hauptwache is the best you can get. Having said that, it is still a decent place for an enjoyable shopping experience especially after they have renovated and expanded recently. The place, already a premium department store, now looks more modern and has more floor space to display its goods. My favourite is the Markthalle at the basement where they carry a good collection of wines, champagnes, sparkling wines, liquors and spirits, top quality seafood, raw and cured meats, vegetables, fruits and other produces. You just need to not paying too much attention to the price tags. After all you need to pay for quality and their pricing is not outrageous. There are a champagne and wine bar where you can taste some wines and champagnes by the glass, a Japanese/Asian eatery for sushi, rice or noodle and a counter serving European dishes. With German's obsession with bread, of course there is also a fine bakery to round things up. One thing I don't like too much is the racks and shelves they use to display goods. They seem to be made of iron painted in black which I feel does match too well with the upscaleness they want to cultivate after the renovation (may be it's just me!)
