Spent a week in Dublin then a week in Belfast. Superb people the Irish and good banter. Went to this establishment 4 times during the week after 2am (alone) with no issues. Then on my last night I rocked up with 4 black Derry Uni girls (not drunk at all) at 1am on a Monday and we weren’t let in. I’m a grown man of colour, to see young people of colour pursuing dreams in a predominantly white society made me proud. I told them that we could go to your establishment because I’ve been in there for the past 4 days and that they could easily make new friends because the crowd was their age group. I would leave after 1 drink. Unfortunately we got refused entry at the door. Upon asking the security why, he told us that they weren’t letting people in after 1am and that they were closing. We pleaded but to no avail. So we waited for a taxi and stood not too far away from your entrance but saw that every other person that came to the door was let in (I have videos with time caps). I’m not a person to be phased by race chartered issues because I know who I am and I am a successful and confident person but I felt that we weren’t let in because of who we were! Everyone let in was white (two in groups as big as ours). It made me feel bad about myself for trying to get these young girls to have a good time and probably make friends. I’ve worked all over the world and it takes an incident as such to ruin an image someone has on people or a place. Not that you guys probably care or would get cancelled but that was a very bad experience for the 7 black people trying to just have a fun night. Maybe you guys thought we were trouble? Maybe those other white people let in were cleaners to clean when the club shut? Don’t be scared. Fear creates a lot of damage! Anyways, just thought I share something that ruined my last night in Dublin! The guy that didn’t let us in is in the pic. 2 other guys said we could go in but he disagreed! Maybe he was haven’t a bad day but he definitely ruined ours. I know for a fact that you guys stayed open till 3am that night because my Danish friend walked out of there at 3am! The amazing bar staff and the beautiful people that pick the glasses etc are an asset to your establishment. If not for this one unfortunate incident, I’d had no problems. Thank you for the the other 4 great nights. 0⭐️ for security guy the 5 ⭐️ is for the other staff.

On the occasions I have gone I have found (contrary to the abundance of other reviews) security to be friendly, in fact some of the friendliest I have encountered in Dublin - let's hope it stays that way. Bit of a criticism of the bar pertains to the dearth of seating and tables - perhaps the front room (with the fireplaces) could be populated a bit more with seats and tables - seems like a lot of empty and unused space there. Otherwise, I love the labyrinth feel that this bar has - with bars being spread out over several levels. There are live music events on frequently - I recommend checking on Google Maps/Facebook for updates. The bar unfortunately suffers from 'temple bar syndrome' due to its proximity to this district - so expect to pay higher prices for standard Heineken (for example). Conclusion: a live music bar (generally, though guest DJs on select nights) certainly worth a visit. Apart from signature events/talent; the bar otherwise has nothing particularly memorable to warrant return trips.

Went here after a few drinks at Porterhouse on a Friday evening. There was a long line at around 11pm. We went through the other bars entrance (just the one beside it) as we didn’t want to queue but surprisingly we ended up at workman’s club via the second floor door haha! It’s a great place to enjoy drinks and dance. It’s more like a club I think when it’s late in the evening. I love their music. It was like disco punk, feels so 80s to me but sometimes feels like house too. The crowd are mostly young people I think but who cares. I like that you can dance and no one bothers you :) their Jameson with ginger and lime is good and you can get it for 6 euros. I would no doubt come back here

If could give no stars I would. Been here twice, first was months ago and felt place wasn't great, full of posers and just felt I was getting dirty just standing there as pretty feral to be honest but thought some people like it so each to their own. The second time I went was last night and reason I am writing this review is because bouncers on the door are shocking. Their behaviour and attitude was just ridiculous and downright rude. Doing a pub crawl with friends for my birthday and we hit there as 2nd pub so only a drink in and sober. There was 8 of us and we walk up to door where bouncers saw there was a group of us, they proceeded to let some in and then stop random person in our group to ask why they are at the place which is pretty obvious. Then as we all go to head up the stairs one of my friends was call back and kicked out out of the blue. When we asked why they said she was wearing runners, I pointed out that majority of people in place where in runners so please explain, should mention my friend was in white converse which I have seen many people wear on night out. They then said well she is in a tracksuit, I then said no she is in a jump suit which happened to be cotton, not a tracksuit at all. They said dress code and standards and I had to laugh as place is full of people in casual clothes and runners and also is a dive. When said again re her not being in a tracksuit but a jumpsuit again they just full on ignored me as they were just being pure rude and wanted to throw their weight around for no reason. Absolutely shocking and after reading some of reviews seems to be the norm with these bouncers and don't understand how management can allow that at all. So disappointing to see anyone thinking they can treat people like that. Never going...

Not my favourite place to go for a drink, as it can be very noisy, even on a random Tuesday evening, the customers over there are either very young, or, middle aged, drinks won't be the best, but for the price, it's not bad at all, I do not know if it's possible to get food. But it is possible to hydrate and dehydrate yourself ! Never forget to drink some water on the side with your beer or whisky or tequila or Rhum or vodka, it is important to stay hydrated. One thing I did not like, not particular to this place only, the soda guns, you know those movable plastic tap that some places are using to add some mixer in your drinks (tonic, cranberry, etc) I always find this unpleasant, but I understand that it is very useful for capacity matters, as it allows the bartender to not worry about how many bottles he has, but it doesn't look nice, feels like you could get the drink yourself in a fast food fountain. But the bartender present that night was really nice, even tho it was a bit weird to see him outside as we got in, kissing and cuddling his girlfriend while having a cigarette, and then serving us, not very professional if you're asking me. I work in the service/hospitality industry, and from a professional point of view, I wouldn't go there if you're looking for a neat and nice place to have a drink, but I'd go there if you're just looking to get some drinks with your friends and then hope the alcohol will hide all those small details that I have...
