Temple Bar Food Market — Local services in Dublin

This market has lot of potential but very few stands, instead looks shabby. I come here as there is a stand with buffalo mozzarella and olives from Italy which is not that bad, there are literally 4/5 stands in a square where you can fit 10/12 I’d say! First of all the coffe stand is horrible! Seriously the coffee taste very bad! Then, the cake place… nothing is fresh there! Nothing, I had a sausage roll paid 4euros (in centra is 1 euro made same day) was so old I was disgusted! The rest is super overpriced, I mean supposed to be a market, markets usually are relatively cheap otherwise I would go in...

I was intrigued to visit this market since I heard a lot about it but never get the chance until few days ago. Besides a couple of stands with mozzarella, cheese and olives, that are not that bad (the stand with cheese allow you to taste some before you buy it), there are few stands more. Nothing special. There is a truck where you can buy a box of meat, which I tried at Merrion Square during the food market there, which is quite good, a stand with cakes, that seems not tasty at all, and a stand with bread. The Temple Bar Food Market is open every Saturday at Meeting House Square (~9:30 to 15:00). After a few years with a lower number of stalls, local independent traders are coming back. They even had live music the last couple of times we went by.

Worth trying most things, but definitely the seeded bread from Sourdough Sisters and the organic vegetables from McNally's...
