Was in Bad Bobs last weekend. Upon arriving at the entrance the door staff were really kind and helpful. The floor staff and bar staff were also absolutely top class, really kind and professional all night, can't fault them one bit. But we had tickets purchased to come back in for the night club hours at 9pm, so we where told to go outside and queue up.
The queue was long and took us about 40 minutes to get back to the top and when we got to the top of the queue the bouncers immediately dismissed us to the side and told us we wouldn't be getting in. Not only did he not have the guts to literally look at us while telling us this but when we kindly asked why we weren't getting in (after being told to queue up and also after spending plenty of money on food and drinks) the bouncer only got more aggressive and violent towards us, trying to intimidate us and threaten us for no reason whatsoever (bearing in my mind not one of us raised our voices or had any sort of attitude to him).
The treatment we received from the door staff here was absolutely appalling and completely uncalled for. We were minding our business all night and spending our money having a good night in this place before all this happened. The door staff completely ruined my views of this place and it's a shame that they think they can treat people this way. It's clear to see from other reviews that the same door staff behave the exact same way to others. They need a serious slap of reality if they treat people like that week in and week out.
Honestly, spend your hard earned money elsewhere. You definitely don't need or want to be treated like this after nearly 2 years of late bars being closed. The 3 lads at the door were an absolute disgrace and the carry on of them ruins the good of this place. You don't need to deal with aggressiveness and threats by door staff at all in the city center and there are plenty of other places around the immediate area that will treat you with the same respect...
Read moreThe place fully justifies its name. Bad bobs🤣 Today I had an unpleasant incident with the security at the entrance, who simply did not let my son into the bar while me and my friend were waiting for him inside. I went out to pick up my son and the guards said they wouldn't let him in because he was rude. To my request to explain what his rudeness was, the guard replied that my son was rude because he looked at him the wrong way. What? he thinks it's rude!? My son did not say anything bad, but simply looked at the guard incorrectly when he tried to stop him. That is rude? my son turned and said I'm OK not understanding why he was called in the back and patted on the shoulder when he passed by security at the entrance! It's rude?!! I explained to the guard that this was just his personal interpretation and nothing more. The guard replied yes, this is my opinion and moreover he works here and has the right not to allow anyone who he does not like to enter, he has the power to do so. It's outrageous. Absurd. As a result, when I pointed out that he was wrong, he did not allow me to enter the inside, where my friend was waiting for me. In fact, he just practically kicked out 3 potential customers, since we did not even have time to place an order. I called my friend and told her to get out of there. Waited for her at the entrance with huge feeling of despair. Forced to write this, in the hope that the managers will take aprropriate steps and replace the staff with more polite, welcoming and friendly people. Your business is a client oriented business and you should be more welcoming. We are the first time in your country and in your bar. And I'm sorry that we left your place with a extremely bad...
Read moreI have always enjoyed coming to this pub whenever I’m in Dublin ,the live music and the atmosphere are usually amazing. Yesterday, however, I had a very unpleasant experience that I feel is important to share.
I brought a Swedish friend who was visiting Dublin for the first time, and unfortunately, we had a very negative interaction with one of the staff members ,a glass collector who, based on her accent, seemed to be Brazilian.
We were standing near the area where empty glasses are collected, and without realizing it (as we had just arrived), we were in the way. Instead of politely asking us to move, she shouted at us in a very rude and aggressive manner.
This was completely unnecessary and very disappointing. The rest of the staff were, as always, friendly and cheerful – especially the bartenders – but this single incident left us with a very negative impression.
Tourists come to this pub not only for music and culture, but also for respect and a welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, this interaction fell short of what we have always appreciated about this place.
Please, managers, do not let a single person damage the reputation of such a fun and well-known place...
