Wagyu Beef & Okonomiyaki Teppanyaki MATENROU Tokyo Skytree Solamachi — Restaurant in Tokyo

The restaurant is beautiful and has an amazing view. We were seated right away. However, we were quickly forgotten about. Several people who arrived after us were served first. After 40 minutes, we still had not had even our drink order taken. Thankfully, one of the chefs noticed we had not been helped and came to take our order himself. Once the order was placed, our food and drinks arrived very quickly. I had the lobster and my husband had the kobe beef; both were delicious and well prepared. After we finished our meal, it took about 30 minutes to get the check. Good view, nice service at first, pretty good lobster and wagyu steak, but the service felt rushed and we were ask three time to leave at 10:30 but it said that it close at 11, we asked if we could finish our bottle but they said they were closing, we tried to insist we had still dessert that they forgot about but they didn’t wanted us to stay. We thought the waiters had to catch train home so we rushed to finish the food and our glasses of wine, it was a bit of a turn off because the night was really good. It turns out we came back around the place to go to the toilet and the staff were partying and dancing, we felt a bit insulted to be rushed for them to have fun while we paid 400$...

The price doesn't reflect the experience you get. Even if it is in a touristic place, with such price and presentation, we expected something good. First, the service was sadly awful. 2 times wrong order. Then, bringing new dishes while not removing finished plates. There is obviously no space on the table, but still. And... she did not come back, we had to ask for another staff to come clean.

When it comes to the food, it is not great. The Beef was ok, but nowhere near the price. Same with the Lobster. There are many restaurants in Tokyo for half the price which deliver a better service and food. Very disappointed, I cannot recommend this place...
