Brasserie Aux Amis — Restaurant in Tokyo

This is an upscale French restaurant that typically serves set course meals by reservation. I went here with 10 coworkers after dinner around 9pm for drinks, so we were not their typical clientele. We wanted to try some wine and they said that was fine but they could not offer any food, which we agreed to. We were seated by the window which provided a fabulous view of Skytree! The wine menu is focused on French wines. We chose a Merlot for about 3600¥ and they suggested a similar wine for about 7000¥. We decided to get one of each and compare. We almost all preferred the first (cheaper) wine. We weren't sure if they were just trying to upsell us (according to a wine app, the markup on the first bottle was low at 50% while the markup on the second bottle was a more typical 150%). A couple folks ordered whiskey or cocktails. I was a bit disappointed they couldn't offer food or dessert (because that's what I wanted after dinner) but they provided us with some sliced meat (maybe jamon serrano) which was a pleasant surprise. I don't know the final bill but the prices I saw were appropriate for this type of restaurant. I took off a star for food because they couldn't offer us more food options, but since they accommodated our atypical group at the end of their service time, I'm giving them a 5 star...

Very great reastraunt, it is on the 30th floor of a giant shopling mall. The views are fantastic and the service was great. The inside was very stylish and had a taste of France feel. The menu was in Japanese and French only, so I recommend going with someone who can speak these languages. The food portions were great! You think you won't get enough but by the end of the course you are already full with ourderves before your entree! The entree was delicious. I got the Australian steak with green pepper sauce. The meet was tender amd soft and the sauce was complimentary to the meat. The appetizers were delicious and the bread just kept coming. 😋. Recommend to food lovers they have wagyu on the menu and even had many different wines from france. I give it a 5 🍺 score and will be coming back to eat again. You're mostly paying for the view and your main course. When you're done with the side dishes or even your main meal they make you wait a VERY long time for the next dish. It took so long just to get the bill at the very end we just ended up asking for it. To be honest.. the side dishes were not even that tasty.. only the meat you pick and the desert were good. The staff when they did serve us were pretty nice. They view is really pretty.. considering all of this the price was not worth it. Fancy...
