Luang Prabang Night Market — Local services in Luang Prabang

Last in Luang Prabang about 5 years ago prior to that 3 other times. The night market has stretched out by about 20 more metres than my last visit. The thing I noticed the most about the street market was the difference in the goods being sold. These days not as many original Lao or 'Hilltribe' offerings. The most are Chinese mass produced items, that even the Chinese tourists seemed to avoid. Sad in some ways but also a reflection on how things can change even in old Luang Prabang. Yes, I was disappointed but that's life. It was still interesting but not enough to persuade me to purchase anything. The new open air food area is huge. Some of the offerings, meal wise were nearly as expensive as a local restaurant, and the Beer Lao wasn't any...

Der Nachtmarkt ist sehr vielseitig. Das Personal an den Verkaufsständen war sehr freundlich. Das Angebot an Speisen und Getränken ist sehr umfangreich und hat vorwiegend sehr gut geschmeckt. Von lokalem Essen bis zu Westlichen Essen ist alles dabei und sehr preiswert. Es lohnt sich durch das Angebot durch zu probieren. Das Personal ist sehr bemüht die Anlage sauber zu halten, es werden die Tische regelmäßig abgeräumt und abgewischt. Schade, dass viele Touristen keinen Anstand haben.
