With such hot & stuffy weather nowadays plus the presence of old folks who easily got tired after walking for a brief period. I think that we had only walked around Jonker Walk area for less than an hour before the elderly looked visibly tired.

With that in mind, I suggested a coffee break and suddenly everyone's face lit up 😒 I'd prefer to explore more given the choice but no choice la..

The Coffee JAR is only 50m from Shan Shu Gong, our last stop for souvenirs. A small and quaint cafe adopting minimalist trend, it provide a short respite from the heat outside and also for the legs to rest.

â—ŸBurnt cheesecake was enough to fill the tummy a little and to go with our drinks. â—ŸCeremonial matcha was my choice as I didn't want anything with dairy at that time. â—ŸMatcha latte both hot & cold were very good complete with art. â—Ÿcold brew tea was perfect for those who prefer less caffeine in their drinks.

We didn't order their coffee this time but judging from the quality of the overall quality, it should be good. Good for those who love to...

The Coffee Jar (Malacca)

Visited The Coffee Jar over two mornings during our trip and I can see why it’s so highly recommended!

I first came across this cafe through posts raving about their coffee whiskey cocktail, so I had to try it. We dropped by around 9:30 AM. I ordered the coffee whiskey (inspired by a blogger’s recommendation), while my friend had the cappuccino and a single origin latte.

The place has such a cool, stylish vibe. you can really tell the owner is passionate about coffee, from the design to the menu.

The coffee whiskey was strong, smooth, and surprisingly easy to drink. I also tried my friend’s cappuccino and single origin latte, both were excellent.

I loved it so much that I brought my boss and colleague along the very next morning, arriving early at 8:30 AM!

Note: If you’re planning to order the single origin latte or other special drinks, those are personally crafted by the owner so do wait for him to be around!

Highly recommended for coffee lovers...

The Coffee Jar in Melaka is a cozy café nestled in the heritage alley of Jalan Hang Jebat, known for its self-roasted coffee beans and vintage ambiance. The owner, Chong Joe Yee, brings her passion for coffee to life, offering a rotating selection of beans from different countries each week. The café's interior features a rustic charm, complemented by the owner's favorite songs played through a cassette deck. Patrons can enjoy homemade cheesecakes and freshly baked chicken or mushroom pies, making it a delightful spot for a coffee break. The establishment has expanded to include a new section with a different decor concept, providing more space while maintaining its intimate atmosphere. Whether you're a coffee aficionado or simply seeking a relaxing environment, The Coffee Jar offers a unique and heartfelt experience in the...

Stepping into this cozy coffee shop, I was immediately greeted by the warm aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the friendly smiles of the staff. The ambiance was inviting and relaxed, making it the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a cup of joe. I opted for their pour-over coffee, which was expertly prepared and had a rich, flavorful taste. While their cheesecakes, both the original and the burnt version, were a bit of a let-down, their matcha latte and iced latte were surprisingly good. The matcha was smooth and subtly sweet, while the iced latte was perfectly balanced and refreshing. Overall, I had a pleasant experience at this coffee shop and would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing place to enjoy a good cup of coffee or tea. The prices were also quite reasonable, making it a value for money option.
