Island Voyage Maldives — Attraction in Malé

No no, a Big NO to island Voyage. Me and my wife arrived Maldives on 6th of September for our Honeymoon. I made the reservation at Paradise Island through Island Voyage since they were offering the best price. I was informed that Ms. Jane will be at the airport to welcome us and their counter number at the airport is 32. So we reached the airport in the afternoon, and i was surprised to see no one holding placards with my name on it. I was like ok, and walked towards counter number 32. No one was there. I thought the person might have went for lunch or something. We started waiting for the person to come. Time passed by and no one came. I just started talking to the lady sitting at the next counter and i was really shocked to hear she said "SHE NEVER SAW ANYONE SITTING THERE". I immediately called Miss Jane(who was supposed to welcome us) and she said she's not at the airport and her colleague is there at the airport at counter 32 to take us to the resort. So, i just started walking around the airport but couldn't find anyone with a Placard. I called this lady again, but she picked my call and just hung up. It was all roaming calls, and i didn't had credits to make another call.

Best part is, i e-mailed Island Voyage two days before my arrival and made sure everything is OK(I still have my email communication with Island Voyage). I went to Counter No.1 (The counter is of Villa Hotels group, and Paradise resort is coming under them). So the person at that counter was very helpful, he came with me and called the guy who was working with Island Voyage. I forgot the name of the person, but i was surprised to see this guy was surrounded by 4-5 people. I started talking to them. They were a gang of 42 people from Malaysia and have made the booking at Paradise resort through Island Voyage. They arrived at Maldives in the morning, but the boat to transfer them to the resort didn't come. When checked with the resort, they came to know Island Voyage hasn't made any booking for them!!WHAAAAAAAAAAT!!! That's what happened with me as well. We paid the money to Island Voyage, but they didn't make the reservation at the resort. Then i came to know, on previous day, a family from Columbia arrived at Maldives who made a reservation through Island Voyage, but for them too, the rooms weren't reserved. They made issues and finally, Island Voyage staff took them to MALE and the next day only these people were taken to the resort!! So, this team from Malaysia have been waiting since morning, and now i too joined them. Their boss were having regular calls/email with the ISland Voyage GM but this guy was giving false promises again and again. Every time he was giving the same excuse, the boat will reach the ferry in 30mins(I have been waiting for the last 3 hours and hearing the same). So finally me along with few of the Malaysians went to the Airport Police Station(I'm on my honeymoon and the very first place i visit is a police station, thanks to Island Voyage). The police too started calling Island Voyage GM. Once again i went to the guy working with Villa Resorts(Counter 1). It was evening and the rush at the airport has reduced. The crowd was very few. This nice person started making calls to Jane(who was supposed to welcome us), another guy whose working with Island Voyage, and repeatedly with Paradise Resorts accouting section to know if Island Voyage has transferred the fund so that he can arrange a boat for us. So, finally after 4 hours at the airport(and nearly a day for those Malaysians), a boat came to take us to the resort.

Honeymoon was perfect except for this incident at the airport. Paradise Resort was awesome and the staffs were all very friendly. Me, and the leader of the Malaysian group directly went to Mr. Ibad(Paradise resort Entertainment Manager), to make a complain against Island Voyage.

I have explained my whole story here.I won't ever ever recommend Island Voyage to anyone. I'm surprised by seeing the reviews. May be, MAY BE, they used to be professional before, but...

5 star ratings for Island voyage, Maldives. Last week we went to Sun island resort Maldives for 5 days with our 8 year old daughter. Our trip was arranged through Island voyage. Really we had a wonderful trip. There were no lags or problems during this trip. We enjoyed the trip thoroughly Thanks for Ms.Raaya the travel specialist who arranged our trip according to our plan and. We requested for 3 days in beach bungalow and 1 day in water bungalow in Sun Island. And if we have queries, my husband use to chat with them through their online chat facility available in their website. And their response was amazing. They will quickly reply to us. We reached Maldives at 9:40 PM , when we came out of airport immediately airport representatives greeted us and taken us to domestic airport and we were moved the mamigili by 12:30 night. Our luggages were taken care by sun island people. Then by 10 minutes speed boat we reached Sun island at 1:00 AM. And immediately our check in process were completed and we were shifted to our beach bungalow. When we booked we have been provided with Full board package which was amazing. We enjoyed the buffet 3 times in the main restaurant and southern star restaurant when we stayed in water bungalow. The stay was amazing and when we returned back , the island voyage airport representatives were immediately transferred us to airport hotel for one night stay.
