Lambton Quay - Cable Car Station is an iconic gem in Wellington, offering a blend of convenience, nostalgia, and breathtaking views, making it a must-visit attraction. The station itself is charmingly historic, yet well-maintained, reflecting the character of Wellington. The staff are incredibly friendly and efficient, ensuring that even during busy times, everything runs smoothly. They’re always eager to provide information and helpful tips for making the most of your visit. The ride up the hill is both scenic and exhilarating. As soon as you board the classic red cable car, you’re treated to a quick, yet delightful ascent, watching the vibrant cityscape unfold beneath you. The journey offers a perfect opportunity to snap some photos and soak in the unique blend of urban and natural beauty that Wellington is known for. Once at the top, the views of the city and harbor are simply breathtaking. The lookout area is well-designed, providing ample space to enjoy the vista and take memorable photographs. It’s a sight you’ll want to spend time absorbing, offering a serene contrast to the bustling city below. Adjacent to the top station is the Wellington Botanic Garden, which is a fantastic bonus. After the enjoyable cable car ride, you can easily explore the garden's tranquil paths, diverse plant life, and serene atmosphere. Moreover, the Cable Car Museum at the upper station is a treasure trove of history, showcasing fascinating exhibits about the cable car’s legacy and its importance to Wellington. It adds a wonderful educational element to the visit. Overall, Lambton Quay - Cable Car Station is a quintessential Wellington experience that combines historical charm, stunning views, and easy access to one of the city’s best attractions. It’s perfect for tourists, families, and anyone looking to enjoy a unique and picturesque ride. Highly recommended for a memorable day out in Wellington!

The cable car was great and we enjoyed the little museum at the top. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and managed the 5,000 tourist very well. This made the experience much better and I was able to relax and enjoy the ride. Will definitely try to visit again...
