I queued for about 20–25 minutes, curious to finally try their much-hyped cheesecake. I ordered a cappuccino and the classic slice. The cappuccino was good, but as it’s machine-made, there’s little room for error. The real test was, of course, the cake. Visually, the cheesecake looked promising, with a caramelized top that suggested depth of flavor. Unfortunately, the first bite revealed otherwise. The interior was not creamy or smooth, but overly wet, almost collapsing in texture, and it clung unappealingly to the box. Instead of a balanced, nuanced flavor, it delivered the overwhelming impression of eating a block of Philadelphia cream cheese, dense, heavy, and one-dimensional. The base added nothing to redeem the experience: it was flat, bland, and forgettable, failing to provide the contrast that a proper crust should bring. Cheesecake, at its best, balances richness with lightness, creaminess with structure, sweetness with tang. Here, none of these elements found harmony. I’ve tasted cheesecakes in many places, from small cafés to renowned bakeries in New York, the dessert’s true home. I’ve even baked countless myself. This, sadly, ranks as one of the weakest I’ve encountered. Even when texture falters, flavor can sometimes save a dessert, but here, both failed. In the end, all I can say is that the long line seems driven more by hype than by substance. A disappointment, and certainly not worth the wait.

Saw this before our Barcelona trip and thought to try it. Not that easy to find, lots of walking from the nearest Metro. The shop is tiny, hardly any place to turn around. There wasn’t many people around. Found the shop too tight. We ordered the classic. I was asked how much I want (you pay by the weight) so just had about 1/8 size of a cake. I asked if there was cold water or juice for sale (we’ve been walking in this heat) and they said no. They only sell coffee, cold and hot outside few people were seating by the pavement and there were only 2 seats just beside the rubbish bin. This is also a street that gets vehicles so a bit dicey and dangerous all for a slice of cake. TBH, Im a bit underwhelmed and disappointed: no cold drinks (water or juice or cola) and seatings to enjoy your loot of cake. It wasn’t comfortable at all, far from the Metro and a bit of a yomp! I live in Melbourne and have travelled a fair bit and this is a normal cake. The cake itself is just a cake, it was jiggly but nothing really special and magical about it not to mention odd that you pay by weight. I asked for a small size (about 1/8 of a cake and paid close to 5 euros) Taste is ok, nothing special. Prams and wheelchairs def a no! Too tight! No seatings and beside a small road so not clever to stop a pram or wheelchair by the side of the road.

Ladies and gentlemen Girls and boys

I recently had the opportunity to sample the cheesecake from JonCake, and I must express my concern regarding the current trend surrounding this establishment. It appears that many individuals are blindly following this trend without critically evaluating the quality of the product.

In my professional opinion, the cheesecake offered at JonCake is not exceptional in any way. It is comparable to the standard cheesecake that can be found at numerous reputable pastry shops and restaurants. Despite waiting 35 minutes in a queue, I found that the experience was not worth the time invested.

I am perplexed by the popularity of this establishment. It seems that individuals purchase the cheesecake, consume it, and subsequently post about their experience on social media platforms such as Instagram, seemingly taking pride in having visited the establishment.

I urge you to exercise critical thinking and independent judgment when evaluating the quality of a product or service. Resist the temptation to blindly follow trends and, instead, rely on your own assessment to determine whether something is truly worthwhile.

Furthermore, if you find that a product or service is lacking in quality, I encourage you to express your honest opinion rather than posting positive reviews for the sake of " maximum of...
