Certainly! HIf you’re looking for an authentic taste of Peru while exploring Madrid, Mercado Los Mostenses, also known as the “Mercado Peruano,” is an absolute must-visit. Conveniently located at Plaza Los Mostenses 1, Centro, 28015 Madrid, just a short walk from Gran Vía, this bustling market is a hidden gem for food lovers, especially those eager to experience Peruvian cuisine at its finest.
The market houses several small Peruvian restaurants that serve a variety of traditional dishes, all prepared with fresh ingredients and bold, authentic flavors. Whether you’re craving a hearty ceviche, a savory lomo saltado, or something sweet like suspiro a la limeña, the options are abundant and mouthwatering. The food quality here is exceptional, rivaling many high-end restaurants, but at a fraction of the price.
What sets this market apart, beyond the fantastic food, is the service. The staff at these eateries are incredibly friendly, attentive, and passionate about sharing their culture through their cuisine. They’re always willing to recommend dishes or customize your meal to suit your preferences.
Not only is the food amazing, but the prices are also more than fair, making this an excellent choice for a casual yet unforgettable dining experience. Whether you’re a local or just visiting Madrid, Mercado Los Mostenses offers a unique and authentic way to explore the flavors of Peru without...
Read moreA very interesting Latin American market with fish and meat stalls, and other shops as well. I particularly liked the South American style small restaurants, where they prepared local home style cooking. I tried the Peruian ceviche and chicken fried rice, which was a lunch deal at 10'40€, which not but for the good portions served. The ceviche was excellent 👌 and the rice was filling. Kudos to the chef. The staff can speak a little English, and the rest we communicated using Google translate 😂, and they very friendly and kind. Love and admire the Latin warm welcoming spirit in the middle of Madrid hustle and bustle. High recommend checking the market stores, and trying the local...
Read moreInterior good market located near Gran Via and Plaza de España with a concentration of South American and South Asian vendors.
Mostly catering to locals, not a lot of tourists stop here, there is a good selection of food stalls with Peruvian food, friendly vendors.
The market is old but I believe that’s what its charm, run down, but with a soul, better not renovate and keep its retro style, we liked this one better than the one in Bilbao which is more modern, but has no soul.
P.S.: please leave a ❤️ if this review was helpful in making...
