I and my colleagues had a very bad experience in their banquet service. We had an event last August 24, 2024 at around 6:00PM evening at the big event hall. We booked the event hall for 60-70 pax and even had an agreement or contract with the banquet department/manager. But then, after our event a waiter came or he claimed to be the Supervisor/Manager and talked to our friend saying that we had a 98 guests. We asked him if how did he know or assume the total number of guests we had, and he replied... " i counted it per head ". We wondered how our guests became 98 if we were having an intimate debut celebration. Only close friends and family of the debutant were invited as it was a surprise celebration for my friend(s) daughter. We have a guestlist shared with the Supervisor/Manager but he insisted that he counted it and he is 100% sure. He even counted the guy who delivered the cake and other people who were not invited, not in our guest list and were just there to deliver. And added as well that he even checked the camera. To: Mr. Banquet Supervisor/Manager, how sure are you that all those people you saw in the CCTV or camera are our guest as your camera's were not placed inside the event hall but in the hallway going to the washroom???? How will you know the exact count of our guests? Is that really your basis? And you even counted twice those people who were setting inside the event hall and ate outside the event hall, at the bar (as you mentioned). (Note: they ate outside as you were not able to provide a table). And to Mr. Manager who defended and supported this Mr. Banquet Supervisor/Manager, kindly please implement a proper house rules for the banquet events etc. Do not just check the CCTV as your basis for whatever it is. We ended up our programme at 11:00PM and we were able to go home past 1:00AM as you guys were insisting about the number of guests. We left some of our things as we were exhausted and tired ; most especially my make-up kit at the event hall placed at the podium and expected it will be found and returned to me. But they found nothing. So

We recently held a very special event at Hyatt Place Al Rigga (Aug 16, 4pm onwards beside Focus Restaurant, 1st Floor) a joint celebration for our child’s baptism and our other son’s 7th birthday. Booked through Miss Marick and assited during the event by Abubhakar and Shahagzan, unsure with name spelling but they are from the Focus Restaurant as our event covered the buffet area of the restaurant.

While the venue and food were decent, our overall experience was overshadowed by serious technical issues that deeply affected the flow and emotional value of the event. The biggest disappointment was the sound system. The microphone and speakers failed seven times during our program—not once or twice, but seven. These weren’t just random moments, they occurred during the most important parts of the event: the family entrance, parental messages, our celebrant’s message and song, and other key segments that we spent weeks preparing for. It was heartbreaking and frustrating, especially for us as parents who poured our time, emotions, and resources into making this day memorable. We were prepared to accept a glitch or two—technical difficulties happen, but this was excessive. It turned what should have been a joyful, once-in-a-lifetime memory into a source of disappointment and stress. To make things worse, the projector was not set up in time, and we were left waiting while trying to keep the program together. Due to the mounting disappointment and frustration, our family ended up not even eating. That alone reflects how deeply the technical shortcomings affected us. We appreciate the staff who tried to assist and acknowledge that the food and venue met our expectations. However, we sincerely hope that Hyatt management takes feedback like this seriously. While the hotel generally boasts a good location, there were several aspects, particularly concerning the rooms and dining, that impacted my experience. Room Condition Upon entering the room, I immediately noticed an old smoking smell lingering in the air, which was quite off-putting. The carpets also appeared not very clean, showing signs of wear and tear. Furthermore, the washrooms were in need of some repair work; the doors felt old and creaky, suggesting they haven't been updated in quite some time. These issues detracted from the overall comfort and freshness one expects from a hotel of this caliber. Dining Experience Where the Hyatt Al Rega truly missed the mark for me was in its culinary offerings, particularly at breakfast. While the restaurants provided a decent atmosphere, the food itself was largely unremarkable. For an international hotel, I found the breakfast spread surprisingly lacking in variety, especially concerning Indian cuisine. Given the diverse clientele a hotel like this attracts, the limited and frankly underwhelming Indian options were a notable disappointment. The taste across the board for breakfast items simply wasn't up to the standard one would expect from a Hyatt property, feeling more perfunctory than palatable. Staff Service On a positive note, I found the staff at the reception to be very helpful. Mr. Rashad and other team members there were particularly attentive and accommodating, which made the check-in and any subsequent queries quite smooth. Their professionalism was definitely a highlight of my stay. While the helpfulness of the reception staff was appreciated, the combination of the room's condition and the underwhelming dining experience, especially the breakfast, significantly impacted my overall perception and enjoyment of the stay. With improvements in these key areas, the Hyatt Al Rega could elevate its guest experience...

This place is falling apart and the staff is incredibly rude. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AND Strongly advise against staying here based on our nightmarish experience. We didn't receive the room we booked. A heavy curtain rod fell on us, emitting a rotten egg smell from the shower. Water leaked from the ceiling, and the presence of sex workers due to the nightclub was uncomfortable. Furthermore, two of our suitcases weren't loaded when we left for the airport, forcing us to return and collect them. The staff was exceptionally rude and lacked hospitality training. I was shocked that this was a Hyatt branded property. 1. Check-in Fiasco: Booked room was under maintenance; forced to settle for a different room on arrival (found out later they sold our room to other guests). 2. Unsafe Incident: A heavy curtain beam fell on my sister's head; instead of addressing the structural issue, the hotel blamed her instead of fixing the problem and rehousing us at 2am! 3.Rude + Bad Attitude: Hotel ignored our calls after the incident, showing no concern for our safety or well-being. 4. Sleep Disruption: Hammering for maintenance at 2 am disrupted our sleep; unacceptable disregard for guests' rest. 5. Hygiene Nightmare: Shower emitted a putrid smell like rotten eggs; leaking ceiling added to the discomfort. 6. Baggage Nightmare: Hotel failed to pack two of our bags during checkout, creating chaos and nearly causing us to miss our flight. Overall Disappointment: Shockingly poor service, utter disregard for guest safety, and no accountability from the hotel staff. and how this hotel was awful and didn't represent their brand in terms of quality
