An unforgettable experience and one of London’s most iconic attractions!

The London Eye is an absolute must-see if you’re visiting the city. Standing tall at 135 meters (443 feet), it’s Europe’s tallest cantilevered observation wheel and offers spectacular 360-degree views across London. From the top, you can spot famous landmarks like Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, St Paul’s Cathedral, The Shard, Tower Bridge, and even as far as Windsor Castle on a clear day.

Each capsule is spacious, fully enclosed, and air-conditioned, comfortably fitting around 25 people. The rotation is slow and steady, lasting about 30 minutes, giving you ample time to take in the views, snap photos, or just relax and watch London stretch out below you. You never feel rushed, and the pace is great even for those a bit nervous about heights.

What really stands out is the smoothness of the experience – from the calm ride to the helpful staff, everything is well-organized. You can also choose from standard tickets, fast-track options, or even private pods for special occasions like birthdays or proposals.

Located along the South Bank of the River Thames, the Eye is surrounded by a lively area filled with street performers, food stalls, cafes, and attractions like the Sea Life Aquarium and London Dungeon. It’s a great place to spend a few hours before or after your ride.

A few tips: • Book online in advance to avoid queues, especially during weekends or school holidays. • Try to visit around sunset for the most magical views as the lights of the city begin to glow. • Don’t forget to explore nearby spots like Jubilee Gardens, which is perfect for relaxing or taking some riverside drone shots (where permitted).

The London Eye is more than just a ride – it’s an experience that gives you a new perspective on this incredible city. Whether it’s your first time in London or your tenth, it...

Visited with family as part of a trip for Sons Birthday. We hadn't booked it until today - day of visit. My 2 sons and I dont like "ferris wheel/cable car" type attractions but hubby hadn't been on and we were on the embankment for Sea life and Shrek.

Also my eldest son and I have rode before and while I dont like these type of attractions - I can tolerate it as this is so secure and safe. My eldest actually enjoyed it. My youngest needed a little convincing but reassured there was a big bench we can sit on and just talk and take in the sights.

Our pod was quite full so we didn't get a seat on the bench but sat on the floor and had our back to the near window so my youngest eventually felt comfortable and could see it didn't sway or jerk. He really enjoyed it and we spoke about how sonic had sat on top of one of these in his latest movie!!

We took lots of photos and hubby loved it.

4 out 5 stars as you book a time slot but the queues were horrendous and it was very warm today. Thankfully staff let us use our Ride Access Pass and we still queued for 20-30 minutes. Most of the staf were merry and chatty.

It still astounds me grown adults will push and shove a child out the way to get a seat when the child is queuing nicely - not the attractions fault just people. If you have children with sensory needs make sure you get the Ride Access pass before hand to reduce this a little.

We have Merlin gold passes but over heard the cost which was 40£ ish standard and 50£+ for fast pass - although this is a great attraction been English and seen lots of the sights its very pricey. There was lots of Americans and other International tourists which may not return or limited in time - it's a nice way to see lots, we had a small snack and drink refresh (own packed items) in an air-conditioned Pod with amazing views.

The Ultimate Panoramic Experience

My recent trip on the London Eye was nothing short of breathtaking. As one of the world’s tallest cantilevered observation wheels, it offers unmatched 360-degree views of London’s iconic skyline. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned local, the experience is always magical—especially at golden hour.

Why It’s Unforgettable 🌆

✔ Stunning Views – From Big Ben and Houses of Parliament to St. Paul’s Cathedral and The Shard, the 30-minute rotation lets you spot every landmark. On clear days, you can see as far as Windsor Castle! ✔ Glass Capsule Comfort – Spacious, climate-controlled pods with floor-to-ceiling windows make it perfect for photos without glare. ✔ Day vs. Night Contrast – Sunset rides paint the city in golden hues, while evening spins showcase London’s glittering lights. ✔ Fast-Track & Champagne Options – Upgrade for skip-the-line access or a VIP pod with bubbly (ideal for celebrations!).

My Experience Highlights

Thames River Reflections – Watching the water shimmer below as the wheel slowly ascends is hypnotic. Photo Ops Galore – The Eye’s slow rotation gives plenty of time to capture flawless shots. Interactive Guide – Touchscreens in the capsule label landmarks—great for first-timers. Tips for Future Visitors

Book Online – Saves money and time (walk-up tickets are pricier). Sunset Slot – The best lighting for photos and views. Combine with Southbank – Pair your ride with a stroll along the Thames or dinner at Skylon. The Only Downside?

Peak Hours = Crowds – Midday and weekends can get busy. Opt for early morning or late evening. Final Verdict

The London Eye isn’t just a tourist attraction—it’s a must-do London ritual. Whether you’re proposing, sightseeing, or simply soaking in the city’s beauty, this is the best...

The London Eye is an amazing experience — you get a full panoramic view of London from the top, including Big Ben, the Thames, and more. The ride is slow and smooth, so you can really enjoy the view and take great photos. Best to go around sunset or evening when the city lights up. It’s a bit pricey but definitely worth doing once!
