Checking in, we were immediately impressed. The building looked well-kept and the lobby area reminded me of mid-high end Mediterranean hotel. Unfortunately the rest of the hotel doesn't live up to appearances. The rooms themselves are fine, photos attached are from a suite, so standard rooms may be different. Clearly a bit outdated and with very little care gone into their construction - counters jut out just enough to catch clothing as you pass and stub toes if you're not careful. The air conditioning is also incapable of handling even relatively warm weather, even running full tilt on a sub-80f day the room never got cold. The beds are also excessively soft, feels like you sink halfway to the ground getting in. Not necessarily a bad thing but good to know if you prefer some support I know it's a 2 star hotel but when they charge over $100 a night before tax you have some level of expectations. We specifically booked this place because it advertised a "hot breakfast", but our first morning we went down at around 8am for the 6am-9am breakfast and found the area nearly bare, just a handful of apples and pears in a bowl. Checked at reception and we were told they'd run out of food. Seemed a little odd since the hotel was near empty - around 10-20 cars in the car park, but not too big a deal so we went out for brunch instead. Morning 2, we decided to come down around 7:30 just in case they ran out again. The attached photos speak for themselves, but since I'm already writing - the food options were a bunch of prepackaged ham and cheese rolls in a minifridge, some poor quality blueberry muffins and the same apples and pears from the day before. I settled for a ham and cheese roll, but when I went to heat it up in the microwave I found a bunch of melted cheese all over the inside - not surprising when they don't provide any sort of plates or dishes. I'm not sure whether this is just the usual standard Comfort Inn provides, or they just ran out yesterday and didn't bother restocking, even having somebody make the 5 minute trip to Meijer to grab a tray of croissants. Either way, this hardly seems acceptable.

So despite the fact that we paid over $300 for 2 nights in a jacuzzi suite we couldn't use the jacuzzi in, the hotel did their best to accommodate us. Front desk staff was friendly and understanding. The manager Chris gave us compensation upon check out. The room was beautiful. Had the jacuzzi been usable this would've been a 5 star review.

Check in was at 3pm. I got there about 315. There was 1 person checking in in front of me. Cool. There was no acknowledgment, not even a “hi I’ll be right with you”, not cool. After checking that person in, front desk then took a phone call. Meanwhile I’m still standing patiently. I over heard her say “so the water didn’t get hot at all”. About 340, she finally said my room wasn’t ready yet & asked if I wanted a water. No problem, I sit down. About 405, she gives me a key. I asked to be on a higher floor away from children. I know it’s spring break & I’m a Teacher so I was trying to have a relaxing time away from loud noises etc. I go to the room & not only isn’t it a suite, it’s also someone already in the room. He says “yeah they’ve been fckn up rooms all day”. Cool. I drive back around, she gives me different keys. I go to my room & it’s a huge red stain on the carpet, big cracks on the side of the jacuzzi, some jets didn’t work & chipped paint on the wall. Knowing I could possibly be charged I made someone aware right away. I go to turn on the water & guess what, it’s cold. So I assumed the person who was otp earlier was in my room before me & the issue was not resolved/taken care of before I checked into it knowing that was an issue. Fine. The water gets reset. Next morning at 4am, my last day to relax, I hear loud music and kids up running around etc next door to me. I called the front desk from 4am-430am, no answer. Even knocked on the wall. Just to find out during check out that the person walked off their shift so no one was even at the desk at that time. The noise lasted well into the next day. New associates with better customer service is needed at the front & certain rooms need some attention. Breakfast, was lovely.

I have stayed at many Choice Hotels over the years, and this was my worst experience. We arrived at the hotel at 7:30pm, and stood at the counter for 15 minutes waiting for someone to be there, and the phone was constantly ringing. When she finally arrived, carrying items for the breakfast area, she proceeded to put away those items first, before attending to us, and the others behind us.

She finally came behind the counter, and gave us our room key. We went up to the room, which was not near the elevator as I had requested. Upon entering the room, I immediately noticed the lack of curtains; only the decorative half curtains were on the window. I left my travel companion in the room while I walked back to the front desk. I had to wait again while she took care of the other guests. I told her about the curtains; she asked me to wait there while she went up to check. She came back down, and said, oh your friend should have sent you a message re getting your stuff, as you are being moved to another room. She gave me the key to the new room and I gave her back the key to that room.

I went to the first room, and gathered by things and travel companion, and went to the next room, which was next door, but even further down the hall. I used the access card to open the door, stepped in one foot, and saw the TV was on, and there were people in the bed. I immediately backed out of the room, and we both went down to the front desk. Again we waited for other guests to be taken care of. She seemed surprised there were people in that room. She gave me a key to another room, and said it was by the elevator, now on a different floor. Before going up, I asked how much a bottle of water was; she said $4. I was dying of thirst by then, so I paid her. For all the trouble we went thru, this should have been free.

We went to that room; it wasn't by the elevator, it was down the other way in the hall. Room was clean, and curtains were complete.

In the bathroom, the toilet paper holder was broken off on one side, so the roll had to sit on a shelf. The fridge in the room wasn't plugged in, and had a funky smell to it. There were two queen size beds in the room, at two different heights. Thankfully my friend is shorter than me, so she took the lower bed.

We finally got down to the pool and hot tub after 9pm. There were no towels. I went to the front desk again to ask for towels; she followed me back in, with some towels in hand. They were much smaller than those we saw others using, and they were scratchy.

We slept well, thankfully. We couldn't near any traffic noise. The lights in the bathroom kept going lighter, then darker, but at least they went on when we flipped the switch. We didn't use the shower.

The best part of our stay was the breakfast the next morning. Food was very fresh, and delicious, and was a nice way to...

I booked this hotel to stay in while my daughter visited a friend in Canada. The goal was to stay here with no transportation so I would be staying there the whole time not leaving. When I first checked in, she offered first floor which was wonderful. I had booked a King room nonsmoking. I got my keys and went to the room. As soon as I walked into room it definitely been smoked in, and there was a baby cockroach in the sink. I went back to desk and told them that I needed a different room I cannot handle cig smoke or roaches. It was no problem she said. The second room smelled damp but figured it was just because air was off. I turned it on and started looking around. There was burn marks on carpet. the couch was broken down, so I figured I just stay in the bedroom. When into the bathroom and could not shut door because I was afraid the doorknob would falloff and I'd be trapped in. It was not tight at all and then I noticed the door frame coming away for the wall. I definitely will not be closing door. The walls had a lot of damage in the bathroom and bedroom. The toilet seal to the floor was broken so it rocked whenever I sat on it. The flushing handle was on upside down. Since the hot tub at the pool was broken (I didn't know till getting there) I tried the room Jacuzzi. Filled it with only hot water. It was not very hot but was decent. Got in and turned on the jets and power surged whole room. I did not feel safe, so I got out. The next problem I had was Saturday. I had booked Friday and Saturday night. The first thing I did was put do not disturb sign on door and lock bolt and flipped the bar on the door to stop the door opening. I was chilling out in my bed and heard a knock on what I thought was next room overs door and someone said hello. They did it 3 times and I heard MY DOOR OPEN! I said HELLO? I heard him say something and MY door close. When I looked around the bedroom wall the door was closed, and the lock was unlocked, and the door latch was open. THIS WAS UNEXCPETABLE!!!! If you have a sign on door and all locks in place that means someone is inside. You should not be able to move that latch! When I confronted the desk person, she said it was impossible, I must have not latched it. I was the liar! I did not trust them past that point and put the coffee table behind door till I left Sunday. When I booked the room, they told me that there was no refund available I would be charged for room whether I stayed or not. I also had no car to move hotels even if I wanted since daughter had it in Canada. I put up with it, but I would never recommend or stay at this hotel ever again. I've never had a problem with a Comfort Inn except one other time 6 years ago in northern Indiana near Indiana Dunes. I think I will stay away from Comfort Inns from now on. Vacationer beware!!!!! Stuff and people in...

If you like the strong smell of weed throughout the hotel then this is your hotel. It literally smelled like people were smoking it inside their rooms & hallway.

And, I’m not talking a little bit either. So, gross & unacceptable.

Pool was cloudy & you couldn’t see the bottom of pool. When the girls got out every single one of them had a rash on them from whatever chemicals that were used.

No security & no supervision with a lot of questionable people standing in the halls & following you or making comments.

Myself & my party went to front desk multiple times to request towels for pool & extra pillows for room.

They didn’t have either available. I called hotel prior to stay & asked if we needed to bring towels to hotel. I was told, “No, they are available by the pool”.

There were not ANY towels by the pool or the front desk. The kids were freezing.

There was only one person working the front desk. She was checking in people, answering phones & waiting on people who were purchasing food from the little area of snacks.

Also, person in front of me asked lady at front desk for toothpaste & toothbrush & she gave him one.

You’re trying to tell me that this hotel has that BUT not towels for the pool or extra pillows for room?

This hotel was filthy. Stains on the floors, dust everywhere.

Very rundown hotel & not kept up or cleaned. I had to clean bathroom sink as there were pubes in it.

I would never recommend this hotel.

The girls were getting ice from the ice dispenser down the hall & an employee working told them they should not be walking the halls by themselves because it’s not safe. These girls are older & were walking in a group.

The girls were harassed, chased & scared running down the halls from these group of people.

These group of people kept walking down past our room . Then we kept getting calls on the phone from someone who wouldn’t talk or say anything but clearly you could hear someone on the phone. I’m guessing it was the same people harassing the girls & walking by the room to get the room number to call.

Sketchy & I mean sketchy people at this hotel who could do whatever they wanted since there was no one supervising the place.

I walked by the pool room at 11:00 p.m & people were still in the pool which showed that it closed by 10:00 p.m.

The only plus in this whole stay was the employees. From the front desk worker (Jaime, not sure I spelled her name correctly) and the sweet lady working the breakfast area. They were the sweetest & most helpful employees there.

They are truly an asset to this company. And, definitely need more help for them since it’s obvious this company has them doing everything...
