The Jackson Building — Attraction in Asheville

The Jackson building was finished in 1924. The Neo-Gothic 13 story terracotta building was the tallest in NC at the time of construction. It is adorned with Gargoyles near the top which overlook the Paris of the South. During the depression Asheville went bankrupt but chose to pay it back. So no other buildings were put up. Preserving a perfect Art Deco city. Also at the on set of the depression in 1929 a man leapt to his death from the building.
