German Chocolate
It’s Atlanta Christkindl Market time (aka German time)!!! Chocolate, pecans and coconut to top it all off.
Original Vanilla Bean - $7
Our OG Sconut! Pillowy layers, moist and a little sweet with hints of vanilla bean throughout.
German Apple Pancake
More Atlanta Christkindl Market fun! Its German, German, German the whole month. Granny Smith apples roasted in cinnamon brown sugar and folded into every layer of the dough. Then, finished off w/ a buttermilk maple glaze baked on.

Once again we stumbled upon a hidden gem. Flaky Not Flaky is family run business consisting of mum Anna, dad Miguel and son Gianni. The mini team of the best bakers EVER. This is a true labour of love if mum is at the shop at 2am! That’s dedication for you as all items are freshly made and it shows! The Sconut….is a genius idea. If you want to try something with completely unique flavours then this is your place. I ordered the Caprese Croissant. Which consisted of a fresh baked croissant, fresh mozzarella, Flaky's famous basil sauce, salted tomatoes and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. Sounds random but it’s super delicious! I could eat this all day, every day! My partner had the Cinnamon Iced Sconut and Medium Drip Coffee. He loved his Sconut and mentioned that it’s the best pastry he’s ever eaten. Thank you for taking the time for a chinwag! I loved hearing about your passion to provide special and delicious pastries. You’re killing it! It’s a shame I am leaving Atlanta otherwise I would have tried many more items. This will be a good excuse to visit Atlanta again… I read some reviews where people were confused as to where this place is…so I’ll attempt to make it easier. Truist Plaza 303 Peachtree Center Ave North East Garden Offices Food Court Take the elevator to level BL There is plenty of seating available. You won’t be disappointed!

We stayed at the Hyatt downtown and found this place within walk-able distance from the hotel. It was a bit hard to find, located within the Truist Plaza. Take the elevator to BL where they are located within a really beautiful food court/business space, and their displays are top notch! The owner was so kind and greeted us right away after seeing our "what should we get look" on our faces and gave us great suggestions. We got the Mr. Crunchy ham/cheese sandwich, heated up to a nice flaky tender crisp! And also a strawberry and a chocolate sconut, both of which were moist, tasty and had the perfect amount of sugar -- not the curl your toes level of sweetness many donuts and scones have. The coffee was strong and flavorful, and the pineapple lemonade was delicious - sweet tart. We didn't get to try to beautiful looking chocolates, made from chocolate sourced from Venezuela, but we will come back the next time we're in downtown Atlanta! I did try calling the business initially when I couldn't find it, but after we left, I got a text they were sorry they missed my call. When I texted back and asked if they ever change flavors, they said they do and have other awesome flavors like key lime - so you should check their instagram page for more current info! Such a responsive owner.

This is my second time trying the Sconuts at “Flaky not Flaky” and they do not disappoint. They had just opened this location when last we visited, but thankfully if anything they’ve only gotten better. The blueberry sconut was moist and wasn’t overly sweet. The s’more sconut was absolutely delightful. I wish the marshmallow was a little melty on the inside, but still added to the aesthetic as well as including the pop of marshmallow goodness needed to bring it home. We also tried some of the chocolate mini-bars that were filled with a pistachio praline sort of filling and a nut crusted bar that had a chocolate mousse like filling with more finely chopped nuts. The chocolate was beautifully tempered and again, wasn’t too cloyingly sweet. Also, this chocolate is sourced from a family farm in Venezuela and the quality shows. After conversing with the owner, I asked if they were like Dubai chocolate and she said, “No. they don’t have the phyllo dough” and I was like, “Oh! So they’re ’Not Dubai Bars’”. If you’re looking for something not overly sweet and just a tasty treat that’s a little different than everything else, come on down and give Flaky not Flaky a try.

First of all everyone I would just like to say it’s a beautiful day to be alive and on top of that something wonderful happened to me today on the job, I hope you have time to indulge. While on post I noticed one of my coworkers heading towards Flaky not Flaky as it was closing up and to my surprise my coworker actually persuaded the owner to do a transaction with him in spite of the long hard day they had put in. But that’s not all, are you ready? The coworker came over and asked me if I wanted to try a piece of his “Banana Sconut”, so I took a piece! That bad boy was so delicious that I was compelled to get one myself. So I hurried up and ran over and knocked on the door and jokingly said security, hoping this would get them to open one last time & it worked! I was so happy that the owner would actually do something like this for a potential customer, and even though I know her personally and thought she was a ideal example of what a business woman should be, she actually gave me one, in spite of the fact that I wanted to pay for it, stating that I should consider it customer appreciation day! How beautiful was that, I was blown away by that response everyone. Listen to me very closely everyone, this business will always thrive because what we give is what we give is what we will receive back! I have nothing but love & respect for the Flaky not Flaky establishment, and the management that runs it! You lead the way with excellence! I encourage everyone that has a knack for sweets to support this...
