Six weeks before my auto insurance was set to increase/renew with SafeCo, I called State Farm while researching auto insurance options, looking for a quote to compare across companies/services. I talked with Tammi Todd who started pushing State Farm somewhat aggressively, which I figure(d) is a sales pitch objective. It seemed State Farm services somewhat overlap with AAA services (to which I am a longstanding member) and when asked, Tammi insisted that AAA is not a competitor (although unclear if she meant in a service-by-service comparison or in a rankings comparison). I carried on with my auto insurance research and received endless calls/VMs from Tammi about State Farm (which again, I understand from a sales-perspective) and threats to let my deal/quote expire (which seems dramatic and against the idea that a quality product/service should sell itself; I do not respond well to purchase pressure). At that point, I knew I was not going to chose State Farm.
One day, after having settled my new insurance situation, I received an unknown 404 call and called back; it was State Farm. It seemed like a convenient time to be removed from the calling list. Being on hold/transferred in order to remove myself from a calling list is not how I want to spend my time, so I hung up. I got an immediate call from Tammi who heard from her coworker that I had just called. Her voice indicated that she was upset and asked how I could want to be removed from the call list when I'm the one who "called in the first place since you hate SafeCo," which were never my words. In one breath, she then angrily asked if I wanted to be removed from the list and if I was now happy with SafeCo, to which I tried to respond, "Yes, I want to be removed, and--" before I got interrupted with her statement of "Good luck with that. Bye" and a dial tone.
Needless to say, this experience was very much the antithesis to their "Like A Good Neighbor" motto. It was an extremely rude way to handle a potential customer, even if I didn't choose State Farm in the short term. I am chosing to write this review on Google because I could not find a good avenue to file a complaint/report (or interact with a customer service representative without perhaps accidentally running back into Tammi)...
Read moreI believe this is my first time writing a review. I went through a divorce three years ago. I came into the office met with Cleo and spoke several times since then with Kayla to make sure name change and address change was made to my account. Three years of this request and my bill still shows up with my ex’s name instead of mine and sent to the wrong address. I was informed by current owners living at the address. I called again to let them know the system is still showing wrong information. I now have a $10 fee on this bill for a different address being used during this pay period. First representative told me it’s an administrative fee… I asked for a manger to call me next day and I never received a call back to discuss the fee. I followed back up again and a different representative explains its a rating fee. I was unsure by what that meant so I got questioned back with insult asking don’t you know what rating means…. I don’t work for State Farm so no I don’t know how ratings would work for this situation. After being insulted by her she then explained its when you change zip codes based on the new address. Ratings are showing more accidents can occur in this zip code. My zip code didn’t change and I moved to a house in the same neighborhood!! Zero help and nothing but rudeness was directed towards me asking for explanation and requesting it removed from my bill. I’ve spent hours of my time explaining these changes over the last 3 years. I needed a new plan/updated plan years ago adding my new home to my plan. I am being told years later that my address on my vehicle insurance is wrong still and I’ll get penalized with a rating fee for this change. I’ll be changing insurances immediately. Never got a follow up like asked and never got the follow up help after several request and even adding my new home to my vehicle bundle plan years ago to still deal with administrative work not being done...
Read moreMy renters and car insurance were with State Farm, my previous agent changed her business and Cleo Meyer was assigned as my agent. I bought a house and wanted to cancel my renters insurance and get a house insurance. Sent cancellation request 5 times, three times to an employee who ended up leaving and nothing being done, and two times to Sheila (one of her employees). Long story short, my car insurance jacked up more than 40 percent with no explanation, Sheila told me that they will have it fixed, she did not tell me when and how much I will end up paying and I was still charged for the renters insurance, though I had attempted vigorously to cancel. After I contacted her boss Sheila, she got upset and sent me an email. Not wanting her to get in trouble I tried to make things look better. I ended up cancelling my insurance and going to American Family insurance which gave me a quote of %25 cheaper.
Now the reason I am writing this after several months. After a few months I was still getting non payment notices from state farm for my renters insurance, Sheila called after 2 months saying that I had not payed for it (apparently she had forgotten about the whole ordeal). I reminded her that I was not refunded for my renters insurance and the prorated amount of the insurance that I did not use. After several months I still did not get a refund. I sent her an email a while back and she did not even BOTHER to reply. Instead of writing to her boss again I decided that I will write a review on...
