I discovered this place while looking at fun things to do for the family during our recent trip to AC. I saw many other reviewers describing it as a larger Dave & Busters, which for the most part is accurate. We ended up going twice, once during the day and again at night during the middle of the week. This place is part of the ShowBoat casino. Once you enter off the boardwalk, there is a bar area in the front alongwith some seating and a stage, which is used for Karaoke later in the evening. IN that area there are a handful of arcade machines. The back section is where the arcade is. Like most modern day arcade, you purchase a pre-loaded card from one of the machines (credit cards and cash accepted) and are alloted a certain amount of "credits." You essentially pay about $1 per 10 credits. So a $20 card will get you 200 credits. You use these credits at all of the arcade machines. There is a wide variety of games including classic arcade games as well as other games such as skeeball and basketball, which award tickets that are saved onto your card and can be used to trade in for prizes at their prize store in the front. There are a lot of games there...really something for everyone. Classic arcades, modern touchscreen games, classic carnival games, ride-on racers and gun-equipped shooters. There are also some a few air hockey machines, an 18-hole mini golf course in the back and a VR area where you strap into a VR headset. The cost "per game" varies from 10 credits ($1) for the smaller games to 30 credits ($3) for ride-on/shooters to 50 credits ($5) for mini golf. Overall we had a good time. The game prices were on par with most similar modern day arcades. The bar area in front seemed nice at night but food/drink prices were expensive...but that is probably expected for the boardwalk area. My ONLY gripe was that we played about $40 worth of games including a lot of basketball/skeeball/other ticketed games, but when we went to the trade in counter we were told that we had 23 tickets! Which gets you like a plastic toy soldier or something. So either the machines weren't properly ticketing the games or...it is just insanely difficult to get tickets. I think the ticketing system should be clearer on each machine. Something that would clearly tell you the tickets you win at the end of your turn on the machine would be very helpful. Also some of the scorers on many of the backetball machines were not keeping accurate counts if at all. I think this place is worth a visit, especially if you have kids. The evening karaoke also seemed fun, but we didn't stay long enough to...
Read moreWe visited again in November of this year, 2023. They did a beautiful job with the place since our last visit, however, there’s still issues in the arcade with the games, and finding someone to help is a burden! I waited in line at the prize counter (with miserable employees), only to be told to go look for someone on the floor. One of the claw machines ate like 6 of my points and the game wouldn’t work. It would work every other swipe. I finally find someone, who is already irritated at the fact that I need help (I wish I got his name), like helping me was such an issue than sweeping the carpet. I explained the issue, he swipes his magic card and the machine works (no kidding if it’s every other swipe), I explain AGAIN, he swipes again, it DOESN’T work the second time he swipes, but he insists the machine is working properly. Then he insists we check my card on the kiosk to see how many times I “played” the claw machine (like that tells you - it shows you the swipes), I swiped the machine 4 times, it shows that on the screen, yet he says I swiped it 8 times! Cut to the point where he calls a manager over who is dealing with another couple that had issues with another game, goes over to a machine, and only gives me back 3 points on my card, not the 6 that was taken. Sorry this is long, but the customer service at this arcade is horrible!!! Absolutely horrible! I’m a mom, was there with my son, and right off the bat had an issue, and I was treated like I just want free card swipes, NO, I want what I paid for and to use machines that WORK, and to maybe have someone who can help who doesn’t seem annoyed and actually LISTENS to the issue, instead of acting like I did something wrong and he couldn’t be bothered. We really want to stay some time and check out the water park, and we like that they allow pets there. My son and I went for a walk to see if we could see the water park, but you can’t from inside (didn’t check the outside). Also love how there roller skating and golf, and go-carts, we do look forward to another trip some time soon, but the customer service needs to definitely...
Read moreI took my family to the arcade and go karts on Saturday, May 6. It was not very crowded when we got there, but it took about an hour each time we wanted to get on the go karts (we each bought tickets for two races). We made sure to register and sign the waivers before arriving to help speed up the process, but the line took way too long. The process took about an hour every time we wanted to race. There were only about a dozen people in line but the front desk process is way too long, and you need to wait a while.
They have a good selection of games. Some of the staff are very friendly. Some do not want to be there. And some are very rude, especially in the prize center. When we arrived to the prize center after spending $150, my younger family members were excited to see the prizes in the glass counter. They were not in line - they just wanted to see what was in the glass counter when this rude lady with braids (I think her name was Bebe) screamed at everyone to make a line. She made everyone in the center feel uncomfortable. My family members became really emotional because of her behavior and they wanted to go. She also screamed at other guests that weren't even in line. I told her that they are not in line and were just looking. She started speaking about us to the other employees and stared at us the whole time. After waiting in line for about 15 minutes she told us that we had to go back to the end of the line. I told her we were in line for 15 minutes. She then brought what I perceived to be the manager over, and the manager told everyone rudely to get in line. During this time, an employee was already helping us, otherwise, she probably would have made us go to the back of the line.
This interaction ruined our whole experience. They need to train these representatives with better customer service or let them go if they do not want to be there. They were disrespectful, especially Bebe, and treated adults like children. I do not recommend this place if you expect decency, especially after spending...
