Gong cha @ UT Campus — Restaurant in Austin

I've been to Gong Cha twice so far. Really liked my drink the first time, lychee oolong tea with mango popping pearls. Get the pearls. They're really good.

The second time I had their dirty brown sugar milk tea. My exact order was: a medium dirty brown sugar milk tea, tapioca pearls, whole milk, regular sugar, no ice. I'm putting the exact order on here because it was quite possibly the best pearl milk tea I've ever had. It was very creamy, probably because the no ice option makes sure the drink isn't diluted. The texture was just heavenly smooth. The pearls were cooked to absolute perfection. The tea and brown sugar flavors were strong, it didn't just taste like sweet milk as pearl milk teas sometimes tend to. It was just so delicious I had to review it.

The service could definitely be a little more friendly. They did their job just fine, but getting boba is just such a fun experience in general that having a stony faced server stands out.

The location is super convenient. Of course the university food court vibe isn't the most aesthetically pleasing, but if the boba always tastes like it did today, it won't matter anyway cause I'll be transported to my happy place on the...

I get bubble tea every week and this was my worst experience yet. The night shift I’m assuming she’s white and was wearing a gray shirt and black sweats no mask was so rude. I get it was late but even the other staff were tired and didn’t have her nasty attitude. Not her aggressively scoping ice like the ice hurt her slamming drinks like sit down somewhere you work customer service. Her whole body language was nasty. Gross. If you’re gonna wanna be mad while working at least put on a mask to hide your nasty face. Ordered a dirty boba milk tea tasted like gross for one and looked gross. If your going to advertise is one way give it to me that way. No body told nasty face to shake my drink for me so I’m not sure why she did. 3 stars because the boba is actually good. Went here today to let my sister try bubble tea for the first time. I brought her here specifically because this place got the best Taro slushees hands down. However idk who was working here but she was a b** for no reason. Like girl I'm not the one you should be mad at if you're having a bad day. Didn't hand me a straw (that's kinda behind the counter) and slammed my drink on the table both all 3 orders.
