America's Thrift Stores & Donation Center — Attraction in Biloxi

Nice place to shop for repurposed items, just don’t have an issue, they don’t care.

My wife and I were at the Biloxi location on October 6th. We were at the checkout and a cashier finally came up. She acted a little different and she rang up the items in a careless way (she waded things up as she rang the items and waded them up again in the bag). There was a strong Marijuana smell when she came up, maybe this was a coincidence?

After ringing them up and my wife paying, we started to leave. My wife stopped to get the clothes straight before we left the store, and I called for a Manager from our car. They paged a Manager, I waited a while and decided to call later.

The next day l called around 4:00 pm and the Manager had just left. I was persistent and called the next day. I was on hold about 10 minutes, no manager ever came.

I later tried for a district manager and nobody at more than one store knew a number. I did get an Email address and tried to get someone to talk to about the issue, no luck.

The bottom line is I got more aggravated trying to talk to someone than the actual issue. The rude and disrespectful employee was not up to American Thrift Store standards and needed to be informed of that. She was making the many good employees look bad.

As I said the store is nice for it’s purpose and you’ll probably be fine shopping there. Just don’t have a problem because...

Ok I went into a American Thrift store and I went to the register to pay for 2 shirts and the lady said I love your hair and I said thank you. Well she could not get the register to scan the items and she finally got some strawberry planks to scan and she done it 3 times plus charge me $7.99 and I was like are u going to delete the 3 strawberry planks and she said no that I’m giving u a blessing and you are a Christian and I was like what do u mean a blessing. I said I like a blessing but I want you to explain to me why you are not taking those 3 strawberry planks off and she said if you had common sense you would know. I said excuse me I do have common sense. She never did put those strawberry things in my bag but I did have a long talk with the manager about what this lady did. They said they would talk to her that it was uncalled for. Before I left I said y’all might need to put her on the floor and not the register. They also told me I hope this will not cause you to not shop with us and I said no that I love goodwills.

Whoever they have working putting clothes out puts it just wherever it's so hard finding what your looking for in here. In a certain size section they just throw everything so unorganized it's a headache. Plus I cone here at least twice a week and the people here are either really angry or just no manners. Completely hateful and rude every single visit. Dirty looks .. they put their rolling carts with clothes on them blocking isles and when they see you need through they give you an evil look and just block it more I'm confused unless these employees are here for community service but I've not had one good experience in this store at all. So sad. I just cannot shop here anymore not worth the headache. I leave here so upset...
