The guides are awesome and friendly! I remember one, Hugo, a lifelong Bostonian, very funny. “Huzzah!!” he said and everyone repeated. Gave us fun pieces of Boston history and was a joy to be around. Often on trips you remember the people's behavior and happy spirits just as much as the sites you visited, and Hugo was that sort of guy. Uplifting everyone. On the way you see beautiful views of parks, harbor, bridge, and historic buildings of the Freedom Trail. And being in an open air trolley that pedestrians look at, and traveling with other tourists, is an experience itself which puts you in relaxing vacation mode. Public transit can sometimes be a trek, especially with the USS Constitution, so these services are a very convenient mode of transport. One day is more than sufficient if you won't be exploring every site in detail at each stop. The route isn't that long and many stops are close to each other. Keep in mind that the Freedom Trail is something that's recommended to be walked along. This is a bargain when combined with the Go City unlimited pass. On some of the stops the trolley was full, but they were coordinating to dispatch an empty one. It seemed very organized.

CityView Trolley Tours was a great solution for us, as we had some time to kill in Boston waiting for a connection, and we wanted to see as much as possible. It truly served its purpose as a functional "taxi" and a solid sightseeing experience, earning a very solid 4 out of 5 stars. The Hop-On/Hop-Off feature was incredibly convenient. We jumped on and off a few times to explore various neighborhoods and check out some of the areas the guides recommended. For a short visit, this tour is well worth the cost and a highly efficient way to cover ground. The staff and drivers were generally very nice and accommodating. We had one guide who was truly excellent—very informative and charismatic. However, he made a noticeable amount of comments that came across as him feeling unappreciated or looking for more validation from the audience. It was a slightly awkward shift, as he was fantastic up until that point. Overall, it's a very good tour that lets you maximize your sightseeing time in Boston. Highly recommended for travelers with a short window!

City View Trolley Tours allows you to enjoy the top six gems of Boston: The Freedom Trail, Faneuil Hall, the Old North Church, the USS Constitution, the Paul Revere House, and Hugo. Wait...you're not familiar with Hugo? Well Hugo is the driver you need to request, when taking a City View Trolley Tour. NOTE: Even though this is a hop-on, hop-off tour, I highly recommend you ride the entire Blue Line loop without hopping off. Then, after you've done the entire Blue Line Loop, stay on the trolley, and then you can hop off at the spots that you want to see. This way you'll be able to see all those great landmarks, and not miss one tidbit of information, history, and comedy from Hugo the driver.

First of all, we have used both Trolleys in town, City View and Old Town, and by far pick Old Town over City View. If I could give zero, I would. At first the trip started fine, but when we wanted to get back on after our first stop at 3:45 after attending a show, we waited over 45 minutes to be picked up. We even called asking if we were at the right spot and they said yes and proceeded to tell us we should only have a 15 min wait in between Trolleys. That was a lie! My dad went across the street to Old Town which we had used the previous day to see if we could just get a ride back to our car. City view then came in, and we told the driver our dad was coming and he said, “no get on without your father or I’m leaving”. Luckily, my dad saw it and sprinted across the heavily traffic filled road. The driver (who had no name tag but had bright green sun glasses) proceeded to be rude. When he got to a stop, he told whoever wanted off had to get off right now or he’s leaving, not even minding the woman in the back with a cane who struggled to walk. He got to the “end of the tour” and said, everyone off. He’s done with work, and the trolley is closed at 4:30 and it’s 5 I’m past time. Three families total expected to get dropped off at their car, he refused. We were over 2 miles from the stop where our car was, and was over a 30 min walk with traffic. We had to rent bikes, as we had over a 2 hour car ride back to where we were staying. The driver showed no empathy, as another couple purchased tickets at 4:50, but they refuse to pick anyone after 4:30. They sold under false pretenses. They don’t care about their customers, will leave you high and dry. Avoid them at all costs, pay the extra money for Old Town, they have more stops, give better tours, and you will actually see them around town to get picked up. I have worked in tourism and hospitality for close to five years, and this is not how you treat paying customers. We never could have imagined this would happen in our...

you can get a Groupon for half price but you don’t get the wax museum or the boat tour with the Groupon, nobody checked if we made one loop or several loops (you can stay on the trolley at stop 9 without a problem), the drivers barely looked at the tickets, unsure why people are complaining about that, there were frequent trolleys at the marked spot so it’s impossible to wait more than 15 minutes, stop 5 was the one with the least chances of coming on the Trolley because the previous stop is so busy (people at stop 5 had to wait several trolleys to get in), we also had to do hide and seek to find the ticket booth, the booth is located on Atlantic Ave and Slate (south east corner),

Now why is this company getting 2 star as oppose to 5 stars ?

Their drivers are from New York (both for driving ability and people skills) not from Boston ...

They pretend to be nice but they are the rudest people we’ve seen in a longtime.

They make fun of pedestrians. If you are a female standing at a light waiting to cross the street near their trolleys you will get harassed by the drivers either get honk at or get some sort of sexual suggestive comments.

You will also get harassed even more if you say that you are from a city the Pats beat in one of the Super Bowl or if your state is known for marrying 2nd cousins.

People from Canada, India, Pakistan and Germany were not bothered on our tours probably because the driver doesn’t know anything outside marrying 2nd cousin and New England Pats hence explaining why they made the career choice to drive a trolley.

Also depending on your driver you will get the strict minimum about each attractions or you will get so much information that you won’t remember.

If you want to survive your tour, upon embarkation run for a seat as these guys will press on the gas pedal regardless if you are standing, 80 years old or 6 years old and you will be...

First of all, I'm not sure why this trolley is so much harder to find, I had stared to book the history trolley tour when this one came up in my recommendations. It was about 20 dollars less for my family and I am SO incredibly glad we booked this one over the History Trolley.

First of all, if you are looking for a more Covid friendly option, this tour was by and large the way to go. We passed the history trolleys several times and every time they were absolutely crammed to max capacity. With the delta variant on the rise again, this trolley has seats that only fit two people and at least during the summer that means half the occupants are sitting next to completely open windows. I will say at the Aquarium entrance there was a bit of a line, but it didn't take long to catch a mostly empty one.

Second of all, the fact that this trolley only has 9 stops means it comes by far more frequently and if you are planning on getting to multiple places throughout the day then its far more convenient.

Third of all Matty was our primary tour guide today, and not only was he funny and genuinely enthusiastic about his job, he went above and beyond when he learned that my family and I was in a mad dash to get back to the aquarium in time for our ferry ride back to Quincy. We only had 40 minutes to get there, and it was 20 minutes away but it was the middle of rush hour in Boston and we were sure we were going to miss it.

I asked Matty if he thought we'd make it and he assured us he'd get us there with time to spare. He even altered his route to avoid the busier roads for us and STILL managed to have interesting facts and tidbits for sites along the way, never breaking stride with the tour.

He got us there with ten minutes to spare and we couldn't be more grateful!

Thank you for a wonderful time! Next time I'm in town I'll be choosing...
