We went on the hottest day of summer so we were lucky in that way because the ice cold water was refreshing. To get to the kiosk to obtain tickets, you have to navigate a series of multiple concrete steps up, then back down. There's nowhere to sit while you wait, and the shade is limited to another venue's overhang. We were waiting when the fuel truck came by to deliver fuel, and along with other customers, we thought maybe that was a bit much. We realize the Jet might be at the mercy of the fuel driver's time frame. Besides having nowhere to sit or get a drink while you wait, the cruise to unobstructed water takes about 15 mins each way. You get some fun spins, and some literal potential drowning moments if you're up front, so beware of where you're seated. We were hit with walls of heavy impact water which we didn't expect. The water hurts when it hits you in the face, neck, shoulders, stomach. The little kids didn't like it. I personally took in about a quart of water and spent the next few minutes gagging and choking. There's no way to avoid it if you're sitting in certain seats. One of our companions felt like she got whiplash from her neck being jerked backwards by the force of the water. It's rider, beware! Know before you get seated, that if you're up front it's going to be a high-impact, forced wall of water. You'll get drenched at the least. If it's a cool day, you're probably going to be chilly afterwards. The boat purrs like a little kitten with a powerful engine and smooth ride. It's obvious all the money goes into the operation of the boat itself. They have lockers to leave your things in and it's gated off. The lifejackets for the kids were probably bought 25 years ago. There are lifejackets under all the seats for the adults to use should they be needed. They are sitting in water most of the time, so likely moldy -- unless the owners take them out to dry after each trip. Overall, we would recommend taking the trip, but know that there are some negatives involved in where you sit -- and -- that the owners of the business are placing ALL the burden on their customers by requiring them to park far away and walk (you walk back to your car dripping wet), they offer no seating or availability to purchase a drink while you wait, you have to navigate serious steps to get your tickets, and there's limited shade if it's hot. Those are the negatives. The positives are: The Captain and his Staff, were friendly, knowledgeable and fun. The Captain and Staff, are calm and never make you feel...
Read moreThe boat ride itself was fun and the staff was friendly, BUT I was very disappointed after paying extra for preferred seating and that being disregarded. The preferred ticket holders all went down and stood where they wanted to sit (rows 1-4/5 get wet and the father to the back you sit, the less wet you'll get) I had a wad of cash in my pocket that I didn't feel safe putting in a shared lock bo and didn't want to get wet, so my husband and I went to the back, then families with kids who did not buy preferred seating started piling in (late) causing lots of confusion for ppl who paid for preferred and wanted to sit in a dry seat. We were basically told that we would have to sit in seats we would get wet in because children have to sit in the back. A couple nice gentlemen choose to sit towards the front and let us sit with their families. Several ppl were commenting that paying for preferred is a joke and I absolutely agree. I think a good solution to the problem would be that if you have children and did not pay for preferred, you should only have one adult accompany the children and the remaining adults with that party should be made to wait and sit in whatever seats are available after the preferred ticket holders choose their seats. Sitting 5 adults who are with 1 child in the back and having those who paid extra be good "tough luck" essentially is a horrible business model. Very...
Read moreI can't lie-I had ZERO interest in going, but I went because my husband wanted to go. He wanted to get SOAKED, I just didn't want to fall out. I left my purse and Rx sunglasses in the locked box on the deck...just because 😂🤣💪 Hubs sat on the outside of the second row and was drenched from head to toe. The turns really got him wet, but more than that were the awesome bow dives---it was fun to open my clenched eyes to see everyone laughing. I was in the middle of row 9 and came away unscathed, and still in one-piece, which is exactly what I wanted. We both walked away happy and satisfied.🏆 I appreciated the respect the captain showed to other boaters. There was a camp of young kids learning to jump from a high platform into the lake--obviously hesitant and fearful. We stopped, encouraged them, and cheered like soccer moms when they took the plunge. This really was enjoyable, and seeing Bald Eagles and Heron on the river made it over the top wonderful for me. 😁 We WILL return, next time with our adventure loving daughter. I'll still sit in the middle of Row...
