We stayed in the Overpriced "Penthouse King Suite" @ $200+ per night. The suite was a nice size; had a small living room with a pullout couch, and nice club chair, large wall mounted TV, desk area with nice chair, microwave and small refrigerator, as well as a cabinet that could hold a lot of food, etc. The living room and bedroom each had French doors that opened onto a small covered patio. The patio had solid walls 1/2 way up, had wrought iron bar height chairs and a table. The bedroom had a 2 person bathtub, club chair, dresser with large tv, and nightstands on each side of the Very Comfy King bed. The bathroom is set-up so that the tub/shower and toilet are in a small room. The sink/vanity/mirror are just outside the door. The Cons for this room/hotel: The Penthouse was in a separate building from the pool and breakfast area. The terrain is a VERY steep hill to get to the different buildings! Don't be fooled by the hotel's response to other reviewers pointing out that this is Branson and it's hilly here...There are TONS of other hotels that ARE NOT situated on a steep hill! Many other Hotels that you DO NOT have to leave your building to walk outside on such steep terrain, just to get to the breakfast area and pool. We were on the 3rd floor and while the front desk person told us to take the elevator, etc. when we got to the building, the housekeeper told us the elevator was out of order. We never saw a sign on the elevator, but it Never worked while we were there. The staff either didn't communicate with each other, OR the right person didn't care enough to post a sign and tell the front desk to warn the customers. The indoor Heated pool is actually cold! While the air temp in the pool room is warm and humid, the water temp is cold! Anyone that we saw come to the pool left very quickly as it was too cold for them! My husband and son tried to "tough it out" as long as they could, but even they couldn't stand it for long. There are several reviews that also state this as a problem. We just hoped it would have been resolved by the time we stayed there....guess it will always be an issue at this hotel. The bathroom vanity area is EXTREMELY small. There is very little room on either side of the sink to set a flat iron, make-up, etc. AND the lighting is so dim! Seriously, you can't do your make-up in such dim lighting...much less the safety issue of plugging in your flat iron and precariously balancing it on the small ledge around the sink. There are NO other outlets to easily get access to plug in a flat iron, that would also give you a mirror. It's a very POOR set-up. The patio furniture was caked with dirt/dust/and lime green pollen. This was a build-up that took far longer than the 3ish hours between the last guest and our check-in. They need to have housekeeping wipe down the seats and table top after Every guest checks out! We got dirt and pollen all over the back of our clothes when we went to "enjoy the patio seating"...BIG mistake! Had to change clothes again before we could go out! So, my recommendation is that you should only stay at this hotel if: You get a GREAT deal on the price! Seriously, Penthouse is only worth about $125 considering it's location. Other standard rooms are only worth about $75....and only IF they are located in the same building as the breakfast area and indoor cold pool. Love walking from building to building with no covered walkway (if it rains, etc.) Love walking up seriously steep hills Love a nice small cold indoor pool Next time we splurge on a nice room, it will be at the Hilton on the Landing, NOT...
Read moreMy wife, 3 boys, and I are Branson veterans, but we always stay on The Strip. This time, we were in town only for one night for the Polar Express (Christmas season only). I saw the location is within walking distance of The Landing as well as the train station. The train station is also the place for the scenic excursions.||So the location is absolutely perfect especially for being as moderately priced as they are. I strongly recommend walking to The Landing. It's just 4 blocks away and with traffic, it's actually faster to walk than to deal with parking and the traffic. Granted you will need to walk back up that steep hill to get back to the property from The Landing. Still beats having to drive!||As far as the property goes, there are a few separate buildings on the property and they are not connected together. The property is built into the steep hillside. We had a suite in Building B with a king size bed and pull out couch.||It was good for one night, maybe two, but anything more than that, try booking their large family suite or look for another property. The room was clean, smelled fresh, everything worked just fine, bathroom was nice and clean too.||They have a rather spacious breakfast room, which is right next to the pool, and we enjoyed a really good breakfast the one morning we were there. I recommend having a waffle maker. One of my boys was a little disappointed that he couldn't make his own Belgian Waffles like he is able to do at numerous other hotels we've stayed at. Otherwise, they do have a decent spread of hot and continental items.||We will definitely consider staying at Best Western Landing View next time we are in town for a short visit or if the family suite is available! Location can't be beat, rates are very reasonable, especially for the location, and great service from...
