While the staff ( just one girl running the entire show) was friendly from an escape room stand point this place is at the bottom of the totem pole. We've done 40+ escape rooms across multiple states and this was probably the worst escape room we have ever done. Here's a breakdown on why. 1: Counting the number of puzzles that were in this room five (two were semi-broken)! 2: The room had no flow or point. Generally you have a goal and a series of riddles, lock, puzzle... this was a mix of random things. It didn't follow a story AT ALL. 3: At least two the puzzles the answers were explicitly given. The other three were pretty easy to solve or used very little skill the hardest part was in putting it into the device that was given... 3.5: One puzzle we had the correct code which was literally given on a sheet of paper and every time we keyed it in it would not accept. After 5 to 8 minutes the game master came in and confirmed that we did it correctly and was able to get the drawer open. They were also several other puzzle boxes that had specific codes or systems that weren't explained. General if you have a specialized lock or if it needs a code you know how many numbers or letters are needed, if you have to hit a pound sign or not, is there a way to reset it, how do you reset it...??? 4: there were at least two areas of the room that appeared to be part of a puzzle as if magnetic would open a box or a drawer or a table but it didn't. It was almost like those things broke and they deleted those puzzles and move forward with the room which is probably why I didn't flow. 5:Very low Tech the room was pretty much falling apart. The staff is moving between all the rooms. You push a button to get a clue but when they come in they have to work through were you are in the puzzle.
While the staff was friendly it this was not a challenging escape room even given the fact that it has a very low success rate. We did escape but had we not had issues with equipment we would have escaped within 20 minutes 25 tops. I would not recommend to experienced escapers and for first timers it would probably put you off trying escape rooms in the future. But it was a low price point compared to other escape companies and at least it's a...
Read moreThis was our 1st escape room experience. It was easy to book online and had no problems with tickets. We were greeted upon entering the facility and staff was friendly. We waited only a few minutes before being taken to our room. The staff person went through some quick tips, but spoke fast, so we missed a bit of that. There was then a video in the room that started which laid out the game scenario. The video was grainy and had poor voice quality, low volume, and too fast of a delivery, so we probably missed some of the instructions on the video due to the video quality, low volume, and fast delivery. When it came to attempting to try padlocks with letter codes it was difficult to see the letters on the padlock due to the poor lighting, and also due to many of the letters on the lock being totally wore off to where we could not see them at all. And the locks themselves were stuck. We found out after the game that we actually had the correct code in one lock, but that the lock was stuck and just wouldn't open. Even the staff member had trouble opening it withe the correct code in it. (maybe padlocks should be repainted and/or replaced?) They had a hint button which we used once, and the staff was quick to respond to that. Overall a fun experience but there is an opportunity for improvement by updating props when they wear out. Overall, we had...
Read moreEdit: Upon contacting the management for Escape Branson. Dave S has taken appropriate action based on the full details of this occurence, and based on his response to my email and review you can certainly tell the management takes customer service very seriously. In addition, we had an opportunity to try a different room and were very pleased with the experience the second time and our wonderful encounter with Hannah at the front desk.
Original Entry: This was our most disappointing escape room to date. We have done about a dozen rooms, and saw the reviews for Escape Branson and thought that we would give it a try. However what we found was much different than the reviews depicted. We escaped in 18 min but with many many locks left, only to find out that a known malfunction had happened. In addition, one of the codes was missing a number which we had to play an unexpected guessing game to figure out. When learning of the malfunction the only thing said was well here is your picture for Facebook hope you had fun. Very frustrating after paying $22 per person for the game...more than a dollar per minute per person! No offer of a refund, another game anything, just an explanation of we have a tight budget. I can certainly see why! Save the frustration and check out some of the others in Branson for a...
