The Branson Convention Center is large, vast, wide, and long. All the rooms are labeled well so they are easy to find. Go into a small convention room, and the walls are convertible, so the room can get larger. There's large and small rooms at this convention center. Bathrooms evenly spaced. Spacious walkways. Dramatically placed wood beams on the east side make the whole place look rustic then all the glass makes it look modern at the same time. The Branson Convention Center is well-designed!
My family and I were there for the MONasp Archery Tournament. The place was packed with families/schools/participants/booths and so much more. They even had a slide, loaned from Dogwood Canyon, they kids were sliding on.
The staff kept everything so organized. I know it's hard with that many people, but for the time I was there, they really made sure everything was perfect. That takes a coordination of event staff and convention center staff. Well Done Peeps!
We arrived early since my daughter's time to shoot was at 9 am, but sadly, the parking lot was almost full by then. Parking is a mess at this convention center when there's a large group. When we left, there were a few cars hovering in the small area around where we parked fighting for our one spot.
My advice would be to get there early, or if you cannot do that, drop off your group, then park near the mall, and walk back. It's Branson - Don't sweat it. Chill and...
Read moreThis is a beautiful and well maintained hotel. Walking into the room had “wow factor”. We walked to dinner and strolled the promenade and saw the water show. That’s where my compliments end.
Luckily, we only stayed one Wednesday night.
This hotel shares an outside wall with a train track that is extremely active ALL NIGHT LONG. There are also a lot of police or other sirened vehicles in the area. We were also fortunate enough to be in room 333 that shares a wall with the stairwell that had a heavy slamming door. You may be able to imagine the foot traffic and conversations in the hallway near the door. All the above weren’t muffled or insulated sounds either. The bed (albeit attached to the wall) somehow managed to still have the great ability to slam the headboard against the wall with even the slightest movements. Oh - and bring BYOP - bring your own pillow. I finally fell asleep a little after 5 am. Im guessing one of the conference rooms is directly below 333 and those folks have a lot of energy at 8 am! The parking garage is across the street so bring a roller bag with you.
Needless to say, I had an extremely long day.
Bring an eye mask, and earplugs with you if you plan on...
Read moreAttended the National Archery in the Schools Mo. State Championship Tournament there in March, 2018. I liked the layout of the facility, it was quite roomy, with lots of small rooms for the teams to meet in before their flights. There seemed to be adequate restroom facilities on all levels. It was phenomenal that someone had the forethought to put a couple of massage chairs in the hallway, which my daughter and I took full advantage of and dropped $5 in each chair for 15 minutes of therapeutic pounding, then took 20 steps over to the lounge/bar where we were able to enjoy a bottle of wine. Quite pricey, but very enjoyable and worth it, really. My one objection here was the cost of a bottle of water and I'm not sure who to blame for that, but $4.50 for Dasani? Fries or a burger were cheaper and you have to actually pay someone to cook those things....I reached into the cooler and put the water on the counter...that same water I paid .99 cents for at the gas station on the way to Branson. Overall, a nice...
