What a treasure this historic monument is - and the workers/volunteers are so knowledgeable. Once a year they open the tunnels under the monument up for tours, which is cool, but the best part is learning all about the monument, the different sides and sculptures, what they mean, the different statues contained inside the lobby etc. The underground tour is a minimal charge, usually in late April.
