🏨 DoubleTree by Hilton Atlanta Airport – Your Overnight Stay Solved!

This was our first time at this hotel for our annual Atlanta trip. Our normal hotel was booked. We read the negative reviews but still went for it bc of the lounge, the location, and it was a Hilton. Check in was easy, but I do agree it’s crap that they make you pay for parking. Guests should have free parking included. $60 for two nights? Crazy. Downstairs bathroom was updated and nice, see the photo. We got a $15 food credit but it only paid for a portion of the breakfast fee. And not for all of my family. Another bummer. When we got to our room, it was clean and well taken care of. Spacious and room to breathe. We didn’t feel on top of each other. Floors felt clean, no need to wear flip flops walking on carpet Bathroom has drawers on the vanity! Score! Now be prepared for interior windows, not exterior. A lil weird. But ok. And only two USB plugs and on one side of the bed. So bring your own. And only one plug, you can’t reach the others behind the bed side table. They do need more, we are spoiled in 2025. We noticed personnel mopping on each floor and cleaning, which was a good sign. Our son was utilizing the pull out sofa and we found sheets, blankets, and a pillow in the closet. I flushed and tested the toilet because it looked old and worn out. It would not flush. I sent a message to the front desk and they had maintenance respond within 30 minutes. An extremely professional and apologetic young man came and spent about 15 minutes draining the back and fixing it. It stopped working again the next day. Kind of a bummer having to go down to lobby to use bathroom. Our house phone didn’t work: i reported that and it never got fixed. We went to the lobby lounge that night for drinks and cigars, only to find it closed. We spoke with the front desk and were told they open when they feel like it, when it’s profitable. That was a bummer bc it was part of the reason we selected this hotel. We really wanted to end the night in there but were met with locked doors. We wanted to take kids to the pool, it was 86 degrees out. But we were told it was closed. Staff at the breakfast were super friendly and helpful. Got us everything we needed. Would we come back here? Only if our other go to hotels in the area were booked. Why? Complimentary breakfast is a huge plus for us. Along with free parking. No bells and whistles here when they are locked up and closed. I do not think the negative reviews are warranted. Yes it’s an older hotel. But it’s well maintained overall.

It's a late review but still relevant. My cousin and I said stayed on Friday, 8/15/25. The male that got us checked in was very helpful. He could have used a little assistance because everyone was checking in at around 4ish. However, he handled the rush and himself very well. Upon getting in the shower it was very noticeable that there was a stain and /or substance of sorts on the inside of the curtain. The door adjacent to the bedroom/bathroom was ajar but once we shut it we could never get it to reopen. The couches were very soiled allover with stains. None of the phones in the room were operational. Upon going out for the evening we notified the woman at the front desk. She stated thats she could move us. We asked was there just not anyone from housekeeping or maintenance to attend to the concerns while we were out. We had clearly gotten settled in before noticing the issues. The woman stated, no. She was not the most friendliest person. But, she did provide us with complimentary breakfast. Saturday morning we went to break, there was no buffet. However, we were able to order and customize our breakfast. Both the young lady and male working the dinning room have great customer service. The chef that morning was however, the best part of the stay. She wowed every guest she served both those in the dinning room and those for take out. She made sure she gave us what we ordered, came out to the tables, told jokes, she was just a rare delight of customer service sunshine. Last but not least the young lady who checked us out was very polite as well. I am a Hilton member and I love Hilton property's. Especially love a good Doubletree suite. I would have told say this has been my least favorite as far as rooms.

My husband and I checked into the Doubletree hotel for the Braves home opener game 2023. The hotel staff was very professional and nice. We were given 2 warm 🍪 cookies. (Warning: If you have a nut allergy- don't eat the cookies. They had chunks of walnuts in them. I took one bit and threw it out.) I like nuts but not in my cookies. We took the elevator to our room, and it was spacious with 2 queen beds. The shower had a tub instead of a 🚶‍♂️ walk-in shower. This would make it difficult for guests with knee/leg/ hip problems. (See 📸). The water pressure was good, and I loved the Evelyn & Crabtree soap products. The room was clean, but the freezer was overwhelming 😫 and I did not notice until it was too late (see picture), which froze our water, beer, and soda inside. Housekeeping should monitor the temperatures when cleaning rooms. I will say that the queen bed and pillows were so comfortable that I had a difficult time getting out of bed. I 😴 slept very well for 2 nights. We went to the bar 🍸 for dinner the first night since the restaurant was not open(not sure why). 🙃 I had chicken fingers & french fries and coke. My husband had a 🍔 hamburger with fries and 3 beers, and our total bill was $ 61.83, which is very well priced for hotel food. We were pleased with the service. Bartender Lady was very nice! Our second night for dinner, we ate before the Braves game at a Tex-Mex restaurant. It was delicious. My husband had the breakfast buffet in the morning, and it was very good. It's better than what you would get in other hotels. I just had ☕️.

Cons: The downfall to this hotel is that the parking deck is shared with another hotel and has no elevators. So, if you park on the 6 level, YOU WALK 6 levels down. Also, it is not connected to the hotel, so if you have luggage in the car, you carry luggage to your room 6 levels inside the hotel. Plus, they only had one trash can for a 2 room suite. It was in the bathroom and not in the living area where people eat snacks and drink beverages. We had to use the laundry bag as a garbage can. Please put more trash can in rooms or provide garbage bags to guests. There was a sign on bathroom mirror that housekeeping would not be servicing the room unless guests would be staying four nights or more. Yuck! I understand about changing the bed, but if I am paying $400.00 night, I would like clean towels after 2 nights to be changed out. That's not too much to ask since the towels are not full body sized.

Pros: This hotel is centrally located for what you would need. We made a left out of the hotel and down the hill, and we were on Battery Avenue. It had an array of shops, restaurants, and bars. We were only a stone throw away from Truist Field. It was a nice walk and very people friendly. I felt very safe walking home to our hotel at night after the game. Also, Braves won! Thank you for a great experience, and we will come back...

My stay at this hotel was anxiety inducing. I first noticed the floor in the elevator was sticky, as if something had been spilled and not cleaned. Also, the carpets looked a little dingy and I thought they were maybe just a little old. When I got to my room, there were bad stains on the couch and chair. My first thought was "That's what you get for choosing a yellow sofa". But the desk was scratched up as well and the overall look of the room was not appealing. I went in to the bedroom to find dresser drawers that wouldn't stay shut and a continued theme of dinginess. I started to put my suitcase on the bed when I noticed a dead bug right in the middle of the bed. I picked it up with a tissue and took it in to the bathroom for examination. From what I found on-line, it appeared to be a small bedbug. In hindsight, I should have left then. I immediately called and told them they had to change my room and put me on a different floor. When they changed my room, there was no apology, no offer of some consolation. I got to my new room only to find a large clump of hair on the floor by the "kitchenette". I decided it was better than bugs and used a tissue to pick it up and toss away. Again, the couch and chair were stained and the desk scratched up. I went to the bed and stripped it down to see if there were any creatures. There were none, and I didn't want to look for another hotel after my boss had already booked this one for me. I decided to stay, but it was very difficult getting to sleep. That was Sunday. Fast forward to Thursday evening room service. I ordered a sandwich and a salad. Ate my sandwich, no problem. Went to get the salad from the room service tray and there was a ROACH crawling on it! I was ticked! I called the front desk and insisted I would not be charged for this meal and I would put my room service tray outside the door to be picked up immediately. I had to add that last part because the trays would sit overnight even if I put them outside the door before 9pm. Ridiculous! I decided then that I was checking out first thing in the morning and not staying there ever again. I had another restless night and got up early. When I got in the shower, I had a guest. ANOTHER ROACH! Really? Really?!? When I checked out, I made sure they (and the people checking in) understood the roach situation. When I arrived at the class I was attending, I told them to never recommend this hotel to their attendees. They told me they had stopped recommending the Double Tree Atlanta Galleria quite a while back because it had become so "GHETTO". I have to go back in July and I will be staying elsewhere. No one from my company will be staying at the Double Tree Atlanta Galleria again. Oh, and I never once actually saw a housekeeping person anywhere in the...
