We were fortunate enough to stay here thanks to an HGV tour package that required us to attend a timeshare presentation for 1 of the days. We booked the 1 bedroom king suite for a whopping $337 with all fees included.
PARKING There is ample parking in Planet Hollywood and you’ll want to pay close attention to park where Miracle Mile is.
If you pick up a parking pass at the front desk, it will be complimentary during your stay for self parking. Otherwise, you can expect a daily fee of $18 at the time of writing or $30 for valet.
CHECK-IN There is a separate line for HGV Owners and guests. Regardless, there are plenty of agents at the front who can easily assist you and will even provide complimentary bottles of water upon arrival.
THE ROOM— KITCHEN The 1 bedroom king suite is a whopping 884 square feet with a full-size kitchen, fully furnished. The fridge has a water filter and ice maker!
LIVING ROOM The living room has a massive sleeper sectional. There is a tv affixed to the wall (no swivel) but if that isn’t good enough, you can prop the drapes down and utilize their projector as well. Love the big screen!
BATHROOM In the bathroom, you’ll find a separate walk-in shower and water closet (toilet) with a combo washer/dryer in the unit itself. Detergent is provided but there is only 1 type, so if you have sensitive skin beware! Additionally, they don’t provide dryer sheets so it will be a bit staticky. Either way though, this definitely helps for those longer stays when you wanna be conscious about packing and can get a free laundry wash out of it. I will say though that the drying time takes FOREVER so keep a light load and be prepared to have it on for a few hours.
BEDROOM The bedroom features a delightful king size bed with 4 spacious drawers and a full size mirrored closet equipped with a code lockbox to fit your valuables. There is also a tv equipped in this room (affixed) but you can still easily see it when you step into the massive dual seater hot tub/bathtub as well. They do NOT provide the bath salts (or at least I did not ask) but I will say, out of everything I am most impressed about it is the cleanliness of the hot tub. I know that using dish pods and submerging them while engaging the jets is a great way to clean it but I had that baby on for a good 20 minutes and not a SINGLE speck of dirt came out or had been lined along the tub. Seriously, Hilton, AMAZING job!!!
ADDITIONAL PERKS Elara is attached to the Planet Hollywood Hotel and Miracle Mile, making it an ideal choice for the traveler who still wants to remain right in the action of the Las Vegas strip but far enough that it still feels like home.
One of my favorite perks is that the entrance to Elara is right outside of the Panda Express, chipotle, and ocean one bar and grill and if you’re looking for budget conscious eats, this is heaven for you. No room charges, I believe, as that’s reserved for planet Hollywood. (I also did not attempt to.)
THE CONS So despite the amazing stay, there were some major cons. First, because we booked a timeshare package, we were ineligible to have our room serviced for the duration of our stay. I understand that if you are an owner or a paid guest (non-package) then you are eligible for it. But because we didn’t pay the fee for it, I guess we couldn’t. They still provide you with amenities and towels upon request, you just can’t get it serviced.
Additionally, because they were constructing the new Hilton Club Elara at the top of the hotel, the wifi was out for about half of the time we were staying there. It was also a dead zone so our cell data didn’t even work. If you are not out partying into the late hours of the night, this is a nightmare for you. I hope that it has since been resolved.
FINAL THOUGHTS I had been wanting to stay at Elara for a long time and was extremely lucky to have gotten this amazing experience.
This is still a very high rank and rightfully deserved and I cannot wait to return for...
Read moreNot a fantastic experience. Upon checking in the registration agent was very rude and dismissive. She didn't even want to look up from the computer to make eye contact to answer our questions. We addressed it with the manager and he took care of our needs.
The hotel and resort were beautiful. The rooms are amazing and the pool area was fantastic. Parking can be rather difficult. Sometimes you may have to go up two or three floors to find a parking space. Not really a problem but can be a little uncomfortable when it's 118°
One thing I found very disturbing is to leave the hotel and enter the parking garage or the miracle Mile you have to walk through an area that's full of smokers. It's a very disgusting and nasty. Every time we came through to enter the hotel we had to hold our breath. It's kind of a mixture of cigarette smoke and marijuana smoke highly concentrated. Even though there are at least five signs that say no smoking, people just stand right next to the signs and smoke anyway. That right there is almost enough to cause me to never return.
Even though it's a no smoking hotel, at times you can step off the elevator and just be slammed in the face with marijuana smoke. This morning it was so bad I could smell it inside my room. When I open the door to confirm that's what I was smelling, the hallway was so thick with smoke I couldn't breathe. I called the front desk and asked to speak to the manager. The agent told me she would contact security and have the manager call me. That was over 2 hours ago and I haven't heard from anyone yet. Kind of gives off the message that they don't really care about certain things around here. I could go on but I wont. All in all it was a lower-end mediocre experience. If you're into smoking weed I highly recommend this hotel. I have a lung problem which makes it a little difficult. I will probably choose another option next time.
P.S. After not receiving a response from the manager, I went downstairs and asked to speak to the manager personally. She assured me that someone would be up to look into the problem immediately, and they would also contact me. Again, no contact. This kind of leads me to think that member services at this resort doesn’t exist at all. Even common courtesy like follow through could not happen. At this point, I would not recommend Alara to anyone. I guess like everyone else they want the money and then they’re...
Read moreOkay, first off, I want to say... that for my room, I want to rate it a 4.75 stars. My wife and I are HGV MAX Club Members/Owners, and are currently staying here. We arrived on 04/13/2025 at approximately 11:45pm and our check-in process wasn't quite as smooth as we were led to believe it would be. Our room is a 58th floor suite, and we were led to believe that one, we would have a private check-in... and two... that our room, would have a soaking tub... It did not.. We came, because for my birthday, which was 04/14/2025. As members, we did not even get a "Happy Birthday" wish. Although. My wife said that she made it clear that this is why we were here in the first place.
The night we arrived (Sunday), we arrived at approximately 11:45 pm, as I said earlier, and there was no amenities in the Elara open, at all. We could not purchase anything from the hotel store, nor the bar or Starbucks. There was no option for room service, and even though the Elara is attached to the "Miracle Mile", there was no option for us to get anything for food or drink, unless we wanted to get Uber Eats or something similar.
Monday, 04/14/2025. Was my birthday, my wife said that she made it clear to the HGV people, that is why we were there, and there was nothing. The wife and I went on a tour outside of anything that the Elara had to offer, which so far, has been nothing... And when we returned, which was about 8:30pm, the bar was closed and the hotel store was also closed. I checked with HGV staff, and they had no clue that the bar was closed and why, and had to go ask about it. The hotel store did have a sign on the door, saying that they were going to reopen at 8:45... But, it was uncertain, even to staff, if that meant in the "morning or the evening".
Someone did show up to open the store at about 8:50pm.. So, I guess that question ultimately was answered.
So far, this place, has been my least favorite of all the HGV places that I have stayed. It is beautiful, and I have a magnificent balcony, but as a middle aged adult, looking to have some fun in Las Vegas, this is...
