As a returning client, Unfortunately, I did not have the best experience with one of the PMU artists named Kennedy at Groove Hair Salon. I’m attaching our text message conversation for full transparency (my messages in blue, hers in gray).
After my freckles tattoo appointment, once I got home and into better lighting, I noticed that the freckles on the right side of my face went noticeably higher—extending toward my eyebrow and hairline—while the left side stopped lower at my cheek. I reached out to Kennedy about an hour after the session to bring this to her attention.
She informed me right after the service was rendered that the session I had just received was considered a “tripling service” and that the total was $150. I had no problem paying it; however, it would have been appreciated to know that price beforehand, especially since I was originally told that any future touch-ups after my first $150 visit back in May would only be $50.
When I expressed concern about the unevenness (about 1.5 hours after the service), Kennedy stated that a “revision” would cost another $50, even though I had already paid full price multiple times as a returning client. After I politely explained that I hadn’t noticed the imbalance until being in better lighting, she stopped responding altogether.
It’s very frustrating and disappointing to experience this kind of business practice. Especially after I had previously overlooked multiple last-minute cancellations and late-started appointments on her end. While I understand that individual artists may operate independently, any professional working within a business represents that business’s overall reputation and client experience. To then be met with additional unnecessary fees is truly unfortunate. Unfortunately, I’ll now be going to another PMU artist to...
Read moreI was having trouble finding a stylist that could tackle the job. I called this place because of the previous reviews. I called and the receptionist said that Jasmine could do what I was wanting. My first appointment should have been my first sign. The time booked was not enough time for the work I needed. At that time, Jasmine was gracious and gave me a trim and did some work for the time booked, some bleach and toner. We scheduled an appointment for 3 weeks out to complete the work. Something she said could be done on the next visit. So today, I left with tri-colored hair. In Jasmines words "I don't know what your hair is doing" She claimed she would have done what I wanted. Apparently my hair does what it wants, not what the stylist is doing to it. She was very unprofessional and after messing up my hair color, had the nerve to have an attitude when she saw the look on my face and when I told her I was unhappy. Not sure who would be happy with bleach blonde, gray and green hair, and brown with salt & pepper roots. I understand that my request was a difficult one, but don't say you can do the job when you can't! Needless to say, I won't be going back. Be careful with that stylist. Make sure she understands what you are wanting because apparently she didn't understand my request. Still had the nerve to try and charge me the full price. I paid partial, only to not make of a scene! More than I should have for a botched...
Read moreI got a cute pixie haircut from Jasmine back in September or October and when it started growing back I tried to set up another appointment. I called one day and I left a voicemail. Someone tried to call me back however I work full time and she left a voicemail as well. This was fine as this happens. However when I called back, nobody picked up and it kept ringing without the option to leave a voicemail. I called twice that day. I called one more time the next day and the same thing happened. I remembered that Jasmine gave me her personal business card so I decided to call her on her phone number listed on the card. I left a voice message and she never called me back.
I called a couple more times but it only rang with no option for voicemail. Since I had extremely short hair and needed a cut badly, I went someplace else.
My boyfriend and his brother tried contacting this salon as well because that is where they usually got their haircuts, especially with Jasmine, but both said the same thing happened to them. The phone kept ringing and left no option to leave a voicemail. And they both called multiple times. They both also eventually gave up and went someplace else. It is quite unfortunate because I liked my hair, but if nobody bothers to even try to pick up the phone, then I can't change that I decided to go someplace else. I honestly could've been a...
