I was really excited to take my first class with highland yoga, but feel like I just got hustled out of money. I signed up for a class online a couple days ahead of time. Absolutely nowhere in my confirmation email did it explain their STRICT late policy, nor how inconvenient their parking is (you pretty much have to park in a garage & itās a bit of a lengthy walk).
I showed up 5/6 mins after class started because I had no idea how difficult it was going to be to find parking (never been to this studio before) just to find the doors completely LOCKED with absolutely no one at the desk. Tried calling multiple times , waiting around a few mins. Left voicemails asking if I could possibly try to exchange for another class that week. No one ever contacted me or returned my calls. Literally no one ever answers the phone any time i called!
It also seems like this studio avoids paying a receptionists by just having the instructors handle it, which seems cheap & unprofessional. i have NEVER been to a yoga or dance studio w such a strict locked door policy, & Iāve been to dozens over the years across many states.
Needless to say, i was extremely disappointed and very annoyed & feel like i got hustled out of $30. Oh and also another thing they DONT TELL YOU is if the class you missed, because they lock the doors, was full theyāll charge an additional $15? In what world does that make sense? It just seems like a grimy business practice to me. Be more upfront & include these things in your confirmation emails ahead of time NOT just a measly sign posted on the door after...
Ā Ā Ā Read more3/15/2025 This was my first time taking the 4:30 Saturday HPY class. Ashlee Ramsey was the substitute teacher for this class. This was also the first time that I had ever used the assist tokens. I could see that others had chosen them as well. I saw her assisting others. Since she did not come to assist me, I assumed all was well and I was falling into the postures the way I needed to. Well, at the end of class, I received the greatest assist of them all in my most humble opinion. It was time for Savasana, and instead of me doing the traditional Savasana, I went to Constructive Rest due to lower back pain. She came over and rubbed some oil on her hands and began to massage my shoulders, neck, and head. Emotions arouse, and the tears formed and flowed uncontrollably for a moment. My body began to release whatever I was holding. As I began to focus on my breath again, my body fully relaxed into traditional Savasana. Ashlee grazed my shoulders with cold, wet lavender infused towels on both shoulders and upper arms. She walked away, and I just breathed and took my rest. After class, I waited patiently to tell her thank you, and she thanked me. Today, I saw a different view of how beautiful the yoga community really is. I see the type of practitioner that I can evolve into as I continue to hold the practice of yoga as one of my core values. Additionally, her style of HPY I can find myself truly embracing. Thank Highland Yoga Studio for choosing instructors who lean into their intuition and sees every student as they are. Thanks...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHighland Yoga is a sanctuary. From the moment you walk in, youāre met with warmth, intention, and an energy that feels both grounding and uplifting. The space is clean, calming, and beautifully maintained, but the real magic is in the instructors.
Kristen Johnsonās deep stretch class at Highland Yoga is exactly what my body and mind didnāt know they needed. Her energy is grounding from the start calm, intentional, and deeply soothing. The room feels warm and safe, and Kristen guides you through each pose with the kind of presence that makes you slow down and truly feel.
Itās not just stretching itās restoration. Her cues are clear and gentle, helping you sink into deeper release without forcing anything. I walked in tense and overstimulated, and walked out feeling like my nervous system had been reset.
If youāre looking for a class that melts stress, softens tightness, and reconnects you with your breath, Kristen is the one. This class is self-care at its finest.
Iāve left every class feeling stronger, clearer, and more aligned in body and spirit. If youāre looking for more than just a workout, but a community and a deeper connection to yourself, Highland Yoga is the place. So glad I found...
