Brought in an older Macbook Pro that recently quit working, and just wanted them to pull the data off for me. Relatively simple job, they told me. After a couple weeks waiting, no phone calls, and stopping in a couple times in-person to see if the job was done - they finally informed me that the task was not possible, due to that model of Macbooks having some impassable levels of encryption. They apologized, saying that they should've realized this was not a job they could complete in the first place - buuuuut then still refused to offer any kind of refund.
I guess I understand - and they did make the no-refund policy clear up front. But in the end, it just felt funky. The initial assessment seemed rushed, the dude's customer service skills were poor, and overall felt like he was dismissive of my honest concerns and spent most of the time trying to use overly technical language to impress - rather than just slowing down and taking the time to actually determine whether this was a job he could complete in the first place. I mean, I don't know shit obviously - but if the encryption on that generation of Macbooks is as notoriously unlockable as he made it sound, shouldn't he have known better than to accept it and charge me for a data pull?
Anyways, I'm probably splitting hairs, and I'm sure it's a great place, normally - just left feeling annoyed to have waited that long and not received the service I still...
Read moreI really tried to be patient but they have disappointed me every step of the way, and I unfortunately cannot recommend.
Asking about a screen and back glass replacement for my Pixel 7 Pro, I was quoted a day. Two days later I had not received a call, so I called and was told that the device would be ready later that day. Five days later I still haven't received a call, so I went to get my phone back whether it was done or not. The screen had been completed days ago, and although they said they had called I had no record of their number calling mine. Also, the back glass had seemingly been forgotten about and was not replaced, despite my phone having sat in the "done" pile for days. After paying and leaving, upon booting my phone I saw that the fingerprint reader no longer existed. Not an option in settings even. I investigated myself, tried the Google-recommended fingerprint sensor recalibration, but even that couldn't even find that the sensor existed. It should be noted that the sensor functioned perfectly even when I brought the device in with a broken screen. They offered to look at it if I brought it back in, but since the repair took six days longer than quoted I needed to leave town for commitments elsewhere, so that does me no good.
I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a repair shop to test their own repairs, but here we are. All in all I'm out $300 for one defective repair, and one that...
Read moreI brought in a older broken phone and they were fast to respond to my needs. Ordered the new screen and should have it back soon. Very nice service and didn't charge me an arm and leg...
Edit:: this place upon 1st walking in, felt promising so I left a good review. Sorry for the mistake of "pre review" before the service was done. I picked up my phone after finally calling them several times week's later to find out they fixed the screen but not my battery as well. I paid for a new screen, battery, labor. After speaking with a very nice gentlemen he called his boss and said the new battery was not installed. They said it was there but never found it. Another gentlemen wasn't so nice "red haired" he actually told his CO-worker to tell me they can't find it they would have to order another one and "send him on his way". Well Than!! After I spoke to the rude gentlemen he sent me on my way. I call back 9 days later still no word on the battery! Someone tells me it was on delivery delay and would be in on Tuesday 11-9-21. No word back. I call last Thursday left a message and still no word back.
Long story short they are kids and obviously don't care about customers. Thank you for "sending...
