The owner is incredibly rude. I was enjoying the restaurant and she came up to me and gave me a hard time. I had already bought a large bag of coffee, quiche, a roll and two cups of coffee (and tipped big) and I was in line to buy even more food and drink. There was no one in the back room where I sat in the corner, so I was not taking up any needed space. I was quiet and not talking to anyone or bothering anyone. Pathetic treatment of her customers! ... Per her comment below, it proves exactly my point. I am not "streaming explicit material" of any kind! She is trying to smear me -- there is no "explicit material" from me that would offend her "family friendly cafe". I never did any "inappropriate behavior" of any kind in her restaurant!! And when she spoke to me her only complaint was that I had been there longer than she liked. I sat quietly the entire time I was there and even told her lots of very nice things. She is lying!!! I was NEVER inappropriate and the people that know me know that I never would be. She is trying to make this sound like I did something wrong and I DID NOT!! Her comment shows how little she cares about...
Read moreAbsolutely phenomenal experience at Hermosa Cafe in Durango! From the moment we walked in, we were struck by the inviting atmosphere—bright, warm, and thoughtfully designed. The decor is stunning, with a perfect blend of modern touches and cozy charm that makes you feel right at home while still being something special. Every corner of the space has an intentional, artistic feel that adds to the overall vibe.
We came in as a family of seven, which can sometimes be a challenge, but the staff was incredibly accommodating and welcoming. They made sure we were comfortable, and the seating options worked beautifully for a group our size. It’s rare to find a place that caters so well to both aesthetics and family-friendliness, but Hermosa absolutely nails it.
As a family visiting from out of town, this was the perfect spot to relax, recharge, and enjoy one last memorable moment together before heading home. The energy of the place is vibrant but relaxed—ideal for grabbing a coffee, enjoying a bite, and just soaking it all in. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Hermosa Cafe is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back next time...
Read moreWe had high hopes for as this place as it was really cute. They were busy which is no problem as we own a restaurant ourselves and understand. The taller gal behind the counter making the drinks was lovely and apologetic that our latte took a bit long. The real issue I have is the other girl with the sunflower earrings behind the counter’s attitude. When I asked where our sandwiches were (keeping in mind we had been sitting there for almost 40 minutes) she looked at me annoyed and said with a blank stare, “they’re coming”. No one had communicated with us and this was the second time we politely asked within the time frame we had sat there. No smile, no customer service, and no consideration from this girl. She then proceeded to take a bite from a sandwich right in front of me while standing behind the counter. It wasn’t a surprise to watch her continue on without immediately washing her hands as the blatant health code violations weren’t a priority for her. Needless to say as a restaurant owner and a customer I am beyond disappointed. Added an extra star because the other taller gal behind the counter...
