On Saturday, Aug 19th my boyfriend Chris and I embarked on a 1.5 hour car ride from Queens, NY to Easton, PA to tube with Twin River Tubing. We had these reservations for quite some time, so we set out early so as not to arrive late for our 1pm appointment. We arrived by around 11:45am only to get an email at 11:41am stating that the river was too high and the event was cancelled. How disappointing and unprofessional that we would be told less than 2 hours from when we were meant to go out. We wasted time, money, gas and tolls and made the long trip to PA and were not given the decency from this company of advanced notice. Did they learn the river was too high at 11:41am? I find that hard to believe. Why was notice not given 24 hours in advance?
Truth be told, this is the second time that Twin River Tubing cancelled on me, however, the last time, about a year ago, I had reservations with 3 other friends and was told well in advance. At that time, you could see the river tide was high and water was rapidly rushing. It had rained for several days prior, so we were not surprised by the cancellation. We were definitely disappointed because we got a hotel room for the occasion, but understood given the circumstances and weather.
This time, however, we were waiting outside (a bit early) and told last minute. There was a number of excuses in their cancellation email message, but none seemed professional or true. Why would notice be given such late notice? What was more disappointing is that the water seemed remarkably calm and we even saw a ton of people kayaking.
To add to the upset, we are still waiting for our monies to be refunded. If you are up against mother nature and that is beyond your control, then why not take a deposit instead of...

I cannot begin to tell you my level of gratitude and appreciation to Twin Rivers Tubing Co for their over the top professionalism, courtesy and kindness shown to me on my tubing adventure Saturday. Tubing has been on my bucket list for many years but with my bone disease and constant pain i didnt think it would be possible.
Because OF ALL THE STAFF from check in, key check, life vest assignment, safety talk, transport, jet ski safety person, and the gentleman helping at the end of the trip; and without any prior knowledge of my condition; THIS COMPANY AND ITS EMPLOYEE'S showed me a compassion and kindness not seen very often today!!! Add in the 3 very helpful kind strangers at the end who helped me out of my tube AND I WAS TRULY HUMBLED ON SATURDAY.
On check in i was brought thru the bldg to lessen my walk time, offered a seat throughout the process. The transport people extremely kind as my getting on and off buses is difficult. The gentleman at the end calling for the bus to pick me up much closer than the rest of the guests as i had difficulty walking after 3 hours on a tube. On return the driver was so kind as were all the people back at the site for getting me a chair and making me feel comfortable. Not once in that whole day did anyone at Twin River Tubing make me feel like a burden.
TO THE OWNER OF TWIN RIVER TUBING, you should be extremely proud of each and everyone of the people whom you have working for you as they are PRICELESS!! They made a day that could have been extremely debilitating, instead be an experience i will remember for the rest of my life!
THANK YOU ALL FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY...
Read moreWe were a large group 5 adults and 5 children, including a 6 year old autistic child. Karen and the entire team at TRT really went above and beyond to make sure we had the best time. We have tubed with another company before which also offered a great value on groupon, but we will never go anywhere else again. They were so helpful & pleasant and the location was awesome. This year they are in borrowed/shared space in a bar right in downtown Easton. It was fun to get a slushie to enjoy while tubing and great for getting lunch and ice cream after. The following really set them apart:
1). For our small special needs child, they were kind and patient and recommended switching him from a regular tube to a cooler float. He had a great time and it was amazing that they thought to make such a recommendation. We have never seen this level of thoughtfulness from other companies that employ mostly high school and college students. The person that checked us in is a retired teacher and really understands kids and taking kids on a group outing 😊 2). There were 2 people on jetskis along the route that gave direction along the route about where we should be to catch the current or to help if you got stuck or had any issues. When the river was a little slow, they did a circle or 2 around our party which the kids loved. 3). They provide free tethers to keep your party together. You don't have to use them, but I highly recommend it.
We regret waiting until Labor Day to go and will make sure we find TRT earlier in the summer next year so we can go more than once and when it is a little hotter. Our daughter wants to have her birthday party...
